BUT WHO’S COUNTING? Howard started his interview with his next guest, pro golfer John Daly, by reading a quote from Tiger Woods, who commented that John could be the best golfer in the world if he put more effort into his game. However, John said practicing golf causes him to have “imperfections,” so he doesn’t do it very often. Howard then brought up that the claim John made in his new book, “My Life In and Out of the Rough,” that he has lost close to $60 million gambling, which has been getting attention from critics who have suggested that he never earned enough money to have lost that much. John responded what his naysayers don’t take into account is that the $60 million total – which was accrued mostly on slot machines – included money he won while gambling as well, which he explained meant he didn’t earn all the money he lost strictly through golf and endorsements. John added he still has enough money to take care of his kids for the rest of their lives, so he doesn’t regret having lost as much as he did. REFUSING TO PLAY WITH HIS BALLS After John acknowledged he’s been married four times and that his current wife is serving time in jail, he lit up a cigarette and began drinking one of the Heineken Lights Artie gave him. Because John was given permission to smoke, Artie asked he could light up as well. John then told Howard he first got married when he was 21, but got divorced a year later. John added he left his second wife after he found out she was still married when he first asked her to marry him and then, after they did get married, he discovered she had a child she never told him about. John reported that not being able to have sex with his wife right now hasn’t been easy on him, but that he’s remained faithful to her ever since she got locked up. John went on to claim he never masturbates and, although Howard questioned whether he was lying, Robin pointed out John had been honest about so many other things that she was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. THE ARTIE OF GOLF John mentioned he smokes two packs of cigarettes and drinks up to 15 cans of Diet Coke and 20 cans of beer a day. When John added he can handle his beer consumption even though he went to rehab to kick his addiction to Jack Daniels, Artie pointed out most people don’t understand that not all vices will destroy people and it’s up to those seeking help to pick what they need to cut out of their lives – like he did with cocaine. Howard then noted that he read John eats 20 packs of peanut M&Ms during golf matches and used to eat all of his meals at McDonalds. John replied the stories were true, although he doesn’t do either anymore. NO PUTTER IN HIS PANTS Howard brought up that John has admitted he was addicted to sex, so he wondered if he was big in the pants, which John said he was. John then reported his penis is 10.5 inches in length and has been told it’s the width of “a Coke can.” This revelation led Gary to ask if John knew of any gay golfers, but he said he didn’t. WORTH THE WAIT Howard commented he wasn’t sure why John’s wife was now behind bars, so he asked him to explain the situation. John reported he didn’t know all the details surrounding his wife’s predicament, but it involved illegal deposits she made for her father, whom he said owns a car lot. John went on to say his wife will be getting out of jail on June 23 after serving five months, while her dad is doing 20 months. When Howard noted he thought John’s wife will be “wild” for him after going that long without sex, he replied, “I hope so.” |

I kinda wish I heard this. Stern's interviews with celebs are usually pretty good since they're honest with no FCC regs and such. And JD says whatever the hell he wants anyway, so that sounds like a pretty good combo to me. I'll try to catch it on the replay this weekend.

It was a great interview.
I like how he said if the PGA would let play drunk he'd win all the time. I know I play better golf drunk or at least it seems like I do. ![]() |

That was a great interview. Daly is such a mess it's amazing that he is still alive. Itseems that he knows what his vices are and although he can't seem to control them he is dealing with them OK.

Great interview.
Stern has been great since the move to Sirius, worth the subscription alone. |
