Boy, when you jump off a bandwagon, you get off with both feet!

I, for one, think Lelie is still going to play a critical role for the Broncos. This too shall pass.

haha, you're right Taco, I jumped right off the bandwagon.

Although, in my defense, two things:
1) It was an orange replica and it was falling apart after 2 washes
2) I don't think Lelie will play for us again.

But sorry for posting all drunk everybody.

I personally don't believe that the Broncos can afford to let Lelie go, considering Rod's age and Walker's injury still lingering. As I said in another thread, I'm of the belief that Shanahan and Lelie will have a heart to heart and things will get smoothed over.

Plus, I don't see anyone offering a second round pick for Lelie, nor do I anticipate that the Broncos asking price will drop considering the circumstances.

I'm with you on this. I think if they really wanted to unload Lelie, they would have done it by now. They are certainly not going to include him in the June cuts..

Problem is your missing the underlying theme here. Lelie wants to be the Go To guy but hasnt played like it. And now Denver brings in Walker who we know will be a number 1 or 2 wideout so Lelie is bumped back down to 3 and that isnt sitting well with him. Lelie may not get traded but he isnt looking forward to playing with Denver anymore. He has a TO complex right now.

I'm not missing any underlying theme. We've had disgruntled players in the past, and Shanahan has managed the situations like a champ. And as far as Wlker is concerned, the only thing we know right now is that he's got a contract with the team. Shanahan won't start making roster designations until he sees them playing...

I've heard all of this projection talk before where people are just so sure that XYZ player is going to be the go to guy... I about got sick of hearing how great Tatum Bell was and how many starts he was going to get last Summer, only to find out that he spent the season giving Mike Anderson a breather. We most certainly don't know that Walker is going to be the number one or number two guy. We can project that he will be there, but all that is right now is a best guess.

Hey... Nobody believed me last Summer when I predicted that the Broncos would draft a quarterback in the first round this year. Nobody has to believe me when I predict that Shanahan smoothes this situation over with Lelie after a long heart to heart. I'm only guessing myself... but like my quarterback prediction, this guess is based on the best available data, and the scene I see is one where we can't afford to let Lelie go for anything less than a second rounder... Hence, I see a situation where, like with Portis, Shanahan sets the ship right at least for the season...

So you gave away something and didn't get jack, huh. I'm more shocked that you actually thought that was a go to move, then your loss of faith in Lelie. I believe that Lelie will be back and active member of the team. Remember Elam,Sharpe and Wilson both thought they were being shown the door.

Yeah but they never actively lobbied to get out of Denver either.

Lelie is setting a kind of unique precedence. Threatening to hold out because of a perceived lack of playing time/opportunites when the offense hasn't even been set yet.

As far as TJ saying Lelie and his critical role in the offense?

He'd have to actually, you know, improve to become a critical player first though no?

I'll disagree with Taco on this one (shocker). I think Lelie will be gone. I agree with everything Taco said (Lelie is more valuable to us than his trade value, Smith is older, Walker is coming off the injury, no one will give us a pick of any real value in return). I just disagree with the conclusion - Lelie has burned the bridges, and then blown them up with dynamite.

I say we call Jacksonville, who just saw Jimmy Smith retire, and see if a deal can't be made.

Bad move. Make it an Easy Ed jersey and she would've been more likely to give it up. She knew you for a cheapskate when she saw you break out the #85.....you didn't stand a chance.

Lelie sh*t his bed here Denver. He's done here unless he does a 180 and apologizes to the team and fans. Shanahan is in the drivers seat and won't accommodate him just to do it. I see Lelie sitting out or sitting the bench this year.

Sounds like she was not a very good "reciever" either.

Did you jam her at the line or bump and run?

I agree that Lelie is pretty much done in Denver but I don't see him gone until after the season unless a deal comes by that you can't resist but thats highly unlikely. Lelie is just bluffing with his hold out so he can be dealt but Shanahan isn't buying it one bit, if he stays and holds out for a year his value drops even less than what is it right now.

What teams are out there right now where he could be a #1 or at least compete for the spot? There is only a handfull like Atl, SF, Jax and maybe a couple more but I don't see any team even interested in him and don't see a trade happening.

Meh, I really don't think I'll ever be wearing the jersey again. I mean, we had this big thing on the lawn last night, where everybody gets plastered. Anyways, we're shooting the ****, and she starts telling me she always sees me wearing jerseys and how she wants one, etc.

So when we're at my house, I tell her she can have it. Funny thing is, the other girl we were rolling with was pissed because she actually goes to games, etc. I had to explain that Lelie will never be playing for us again, and the only reason I gave it away is because it's virtually worthless, IMO.

One or two big names always seem to go down with a major injury in the pre-season or the first month. If this happens, a team could get desperate and make a play for Lelie. If none go down, I don't see a trade happening....

See you may be right, but screw that, if I had an Eddie Mac jersey I'd hold onto that thing forever, he was the man.

No girl would be getting that jersey from me.

I agree with you TJ. Broncs need Ashley. I think he is back unless someone makes a huge offer. His agents will knock some sense into his noggin and Mike will be feeding him cake on his patio any day now.

I don't see Lelie in a Broncos uniform next year Taco. Even if we do the guy has given up on this team. Infact looking back at the things I heard even last season I believe he gave up on this team back then. That latest video of Lelie slumped over whimpering about being a #1 was enough for me. I've always questioned his heart and he can't even make a confident statement about his abilities on local TV. It's sad really.

I still like the idea of trading him to NE for Daniel Graham. We sure could have used a monster blocker in the Pitt game as Lepsis could have used the help. On the other hand I would hate to give Brady another weapon. There is a good chance he will be moved if another team has a WR go down in TC.
