Graphics wont be any better than the 360. Both will be HD and both will have high enough frame rates for it to be undetectable in the difference to the human eye.

That trailer was in real-time. That game is going to own all. Not surprised it's coming out around summer 2007. It's going to coincide with summer blockbuster Halo the movie.

Yeah, the "gameplay" has always been the same as the "movies". They make the movies using the game engine, not highly rendered scenes like in FF or particularly Blizzard games (Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft). The gameplay is the same graphics quality as the movies.

Which means this game, like Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, is going to kick ass.

So stoked.

I was really hoping they'd release Halo 3 with the launch of the PS3. Talk about a nightmare for Sony. Rumor has it that it will be released in the Summer of 2007 to coincide with the Halo movie. Either way, it's going to break records.

I'm thinking Microsoft will instead go with Gears of War and a price drop on the system to rival the PS3 launch. If you haven't seen this game yet, it has gotten a ton of hype, and looks visually amazing. Check it out if you haven't already.

All true - release is coming and Xbox is roaring to get it first. Also, looking to the future they are making a GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 that is much more manageable and really are calling on the big boys to bring it back into competitive gaming - release is October 2007

you are a fool. While I am a big supporter of the 360, the frame rate of the ps3 will be MUCH better than the 360. ALSO, the ps3 is more because it contains blue-ray DVD. higher quality, and it stores much more than a regular dvd. If you were to go out and by a blue-ray right now it would cost you a cool $900 alone.

Gears of war is so crazy. It looks freakin real. And Halo looks like a real time movie.

PS3 games are cool too but, thing it's so damn expensive. I want to play Metal Gear Solid and God of War so freakin bad but I'm not dropping the money. A PS3, + extra controller +2 games at 60-70 a pop and that sets you back about 900 bucks after tax.

Actually, you are both right.

The Playstation 3 will be noticeably better in performance than the 360 when it comes to physics, and high calculation processes because of a more capable processor. However, the GPU on the 360 is actually as capable, and in many areas more capable than the Playstation 3. The real question is, where is the bottleneck? The GPU or the CPU?

I don't know. What i do know is that it all depends on the developers because these systems both run on multiple threads, which means programming is much more important than anything as the determining factor of how smooth gameplay will be.

This edge used to go to the PS3 because of those damn crazy Japanese developers. But, recently John Carmack has sided with the 360 (forgoing developing engines firstly for the PC) and he is an industry leader in making graphical engines, so i think the table will shift a little bit.

In my opinion, the largest performance difference you are going to see will be explosions. Do you like to blow stuff up? If so, the PS3 wil blow you away. Its CPU and the 7 SPEs will be capable of playing games that require PPUs on PCs (Physics Processing Units). Look up a presentation called "8 days" that shows off the PS3 physics engine.

If you are a fan of physics, then certainly you will see a big difference between the systems. But Alec was right in saying the "graphics" are about the same, if not better on the 360. The ATI graphics card in the 360 is on par, if not a level ahead of the Nvidia GPU which I think is a 7800GTX on steroids. The difference there though, is miniscual.

If you want a real world example. When Unreal Tournament 2007 comes out to the xbox 360 and PS3, an explosion on the 360 will feature smoke, the explosive effects and the object turning into rubbish. On the PS3 it will be that plus thousands of debris flying in the air. This difference is very noticeable, but I suggest making your decision on games, and not stuff like debries flying.

Umm, Final Fantasy is in its 13th installment and that does not include spinoffs. Mario, same kind of deal.

Halo is the flagship game for the X-Box, it would be freakin stupid to kill off the franchise that made the system.

If no more Halo's, there will most undoubtably be Master Chief spinoffs.
