need a 3 here!

Wow, Mavs may go up 3-1, wow! woulda thunk?!!

Mavs are forcing the game to be played fast, not Spur style. That has gotta change or Spurs will lose the series.

Even if they lose here, they still have 2 more at home, so i wouldnt count out the Spurs either.

Like I said, 3 games left, 2 in SA. Do NOT count the Spurs out at ALL!

Nice Avatar and sig line, Waffle.

Cutler might be the first Bronco draft pick youve actually liked since the time you have been here.

Major props to the Mavs. They are slaying their demon.

The way I see it, the same rules apply as applied in the Suns/Lakers series: Mavericks have 2 chances to close it out in games 5 and 6. I said if the Suns series went 7 the Suns would win, and I think the same holds true here. If the Spurs win 2 straight and take it back to San Antonio, I think they win the series.

With that said, I don't see this series going 7. Spurs might make things interesting with a win in game 5, but this series won't make it past 6.

I don't think I've ever been to 2 more exciting basketball games than these last 2 were. Amazing.

San Antonio is out of gas.

Thanks Bob. Great post game images as usual.

For all the angryllama talk on this board, you would think that I had my own anti-fan club. It's nice to know that I've become a lightning rod on that level.

Classics. This series has been top-notch. NBA basketball doesnt get better than this. There are thick plotlines everywhere and great play at levels only the greats can aspire to. Wonderful stuff. This is Celtics/Lakers and Bulls/Knicks stuff.

JCM, Ive taken it easy on these guys. Lord forbid someone actually bring something more than "Lakers and Kobe rule!" or "Steve Nash is the greatest!" to the table when they talk basketball. Bringing legit NBA discussion into this place throws everything out of whack. Its so out of whack that these guys are probably still convincing themselves that everything I say is wrong even though it is unfolding alot like I have predicted.

Why deny the truth? Just accept it and move on.

The Mavs won, but the Refs sure get the game ball on the phantom foul against Bruce. 5 more minutes without Manu sealed the game.

Wow that was a hard game to stomach if you are a Spurs fan. Someone tell me I was wrong about Duncan. He got away with a few calls, but the last three fouls they called on him (swiping a hand away (), a moving screen (was he moving), and taking the charge on an out of control Dirk Jordan Nowitzi) were crazy. If anyone taped the game, take a look at what the Dallas centers are getting away with when Harris drives to the basket. They block Duncan all the way to the other side of the lane. Cowboys guard Larry Allen must moonlight as an assistant coach.

Well, in spite of all that, SA had their shots and literally threw them away. I haven't seen this team execute so poorly down the stretch in a long time.

I know this sounds like sour grapes but you can tell when a team's time has come merely by the way the bounces (calls) seem to go. When Shaq and Kobe merged with Phil, they were tough, but utterly unstoppable when you throw in the calls they were able get (Sacramento Game 6 anyone?). SA definately was able to get generous calls the last few years and that aided their championship run. Looks as if it is Dallas's turn.

Even if SA had won, they were going to have to hold serve at home anyway. Now they got to try a take one in Dallas as well. If they get that chance.

I will not complain about the officiating anymore. I rewound the 4th quarter and just shook in amazement at some of the calls, especially the ones that went against Duncan.

But still, despite the shady calls, Spurs had a chance to win this game at the end of regulation, just like game 3 and they stumble down the stretch.

I have to give the Mavs credit, their guards have been outstanding and they have created many mismatches on the Spurs defense, which has been befuddled the past three games.

I wont complain anymore about the officiating, you have to play through that and championship teams do that.

I never thought the Spurs would struggle like this on defense, I knew the Mavs have many offensive weopens, but they are exposing the Spurs D.

And I'm happy for AJ, probably more so than Mavs fans are. I met the guy years ago after a Spurs game and you knew one day he was going to be a good head coach. It sucks he's a Mavs coach.

Its interesting to see the Mavs play w/ the toughness the Spurs have exhibited through the years.

AJ brought this team the toughness it was missing from the Nellie years.

I have to give them all the credit and I want to apologize for my complaining.

I guess when games are played a high level, like the last two have been, you let your emotions get the better of you.

Well, Spurs have to win three straight. The odds are stacked against them BIG TIME and they have to do it against a 60-win team.

Well, I guess its one game at a time.
