As soon as I saw Dick Bavetta, I knew the Spurs were in for a rough night. It's like the man has tourette's syndrome with his whistle.

Another great game last night. I was so pumped after the game that I couldn't sleep.

Just a question, you wonder why the Mavs are getting the calls in the fourth, the secret is out about Dirk and Bavetta.

Now we see why the calls have been heavily towards the Mavs favor the past two games in the fourth quarter.

I used to be a huge Jason Kidd fan. If Mavericks message boards had existed when he was in Dallas, I would have been homering out of control defending his poor shooting night and day.

Two words: Derek Harper.

I remember when they had JK, Jimmy Jackson and Mash on the same team.

And Clemons came aboard, I thought those three were destined to do great things - TOGETHER..

Too bad Roy Tarpley never got his career going because of the drugs and that wasted pick of Doug White, what a bust.

Bob, you are such a bandwagon POS. It so laughable, this thread is a great read aside from Bob. Spurs and Mavs fans going back and forth, got to love the playoffs.

This series does look like it's over, the Spurs just seem to be running on empty.

Bavetta's a joke. There's a reason he got the nickname "The Cooler". I was surprised he was reffing last night's game to be brutally honest. Usually the NBA saves him for when they're trying to prevent a sweep because they know that he's influenced by the crowd.

The only good thing about the officiating in the playoffs is that we haven't seen Violet Palmer.

Can you believe that bull**** call on Bowen last night? Dirk had HIS ARM into Bowen, pushing him to the basket and they call the foul on the defender? That is absolute lunacy. And to make that call with under 10 seconds left in the game is unbelievable. It looks like all the yapping by Cuban has finally got to the refs and they are now afraid of "not calling" a call that could go either way and in Bowens case the was a clear offensive foul on the bumbling, barely speaka eenngalish Nowitzki.

Even with the officials clearly on the Mavs side, I still see the Spurs winning this series. All they have to do is win game 6 in Dallas. Which, as you guys have seen, they are very capable of. It is a forgone conclusion that Spurs are going to pound the Mavs in Game 5 in San Antonio. The Mavs can't beat the Spurs in a game 7 in San Antonio.

I can't wait to quote this again this week. The Spurs gave everything they had last night and it wasn't good enough. They're exhaused from a strategy standpoint. The Mavericks are CLEARLY the better team.

Now, all that is left for the Mavericks to do is....

FINISH HIM!

I have an friend who I have met in the sports world. He's a college referee, does SEC games. He saw the game last night. He emailed today and told me, "I dont think in 15 years of officiating I've seen controversial calls like that in the final minutes of the past two games."

And he's not even an Spurs fan, in fact, he's a Rockets fan.

What a joke. The Spurs have been getting all the calls for the better part of the new millenium. They whine like big babies when they are called for almost any foul, legit or not.

Game 1 in this series featured refereeing clearly slanted in San Antonio's series. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, how does it feel? Payback's a b****.

My favorite refereeing moment in last night's game was when the Spurs missed a shot that CLEARLY did not hit the rim. The refs still renwed the 24-second shot clock.

San Antonio got the ball and almost IMMEDIATELY they were called for an offensive foul.

Payback.

Heh. Google. That's rich.

No my friend. I've been a Mavericks fan since they were winning 13 games a year back in the early 90's. I didn't really care to comment on the first series because I knew they were going to win. The grizzlies were pushovers.

Rebound, slam and jam! I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan! (for the ignorant, that's part of an original radio promo that the Mavericks' station ran back in the 90s. Any TRUE Mavericks fan on these forums that was living in Dallas at the time can probably verify).

What was really pathetic was when they brought back Derek Harper at the end of his career...and he was one of the better players on the team.

The three J's were idolized in Dallas...and two of them went to other teams and were no better than bit-players.

My favorite Mavs game of all time was back in 93 or 94...can't remember when, but I think they won about 15 games that year. Popeye Jones laid in the game winning shot against the heavily favored Bulls and Reunion Arena went wild. Reunion Arena was one of the loudest basketball arenas ever...
