Jason Taylor OK after altercation
Davie man charged with hate crime after road-rage incident By Alex Marvez South Florida Sun-Sentinel Posted May 2 2006 Dolphins defensive end/outside linebacker Jason Taylor suffered a minor stab wound Sunday night in a road-rage incident, Davie police said. Redmond Charles Burns, 24, of Davie, was arrested on three charges, including aggravated battery/hate crime, after allegedly assaulting Taylor. "My wife and I were the victims of an unfortunate incident last night, but we are both fine," Taylor said Monday in a statement released by his charity foundation. "I truly appreciate everyone's concern." Seth Levit, spokesman for the Jason Taylor Foundation, said the cut on Taylor's left forearm was so minor he wasn't even wearing a bandage while playing in a golf tournament in Tampa on Monday morning to benefit the charity foundation of Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks. According to a Davie police report, Taylor was driving south on Flamingo Road with his wife, Katina, when he noticed a red pickup truck coming toward his car as it backed up eastbound across State Road 84's westbound lanes. Taylor honked at the truck and the two vehicles avoided a crash. Taylor was then driving behind the truck, which was traveling at 10 mph, when he tried to pass on the left. As Taylor passed, the driver intentionally swerved toward him, causing Taylor's car to run off the road. The truck ran into Taylor's car at Southwest 130th Avenue and Eighth Street. The report states a passenger in the truck, Timothy Foster, then got out and banged on Taylor's car trunk. Burns, who was driving the truck, also emerged and used a racial slur and obscenities and threatened to kill Taylor. The 5-foot-11, 168-pound Burns then grabbed a metal object from his truck and tried to stab the 6-6, 255-pound Taylor, the report said. As he backed away from Burns, Taylor was cut on his left forearm. Taylor drove after the truck, calling 911 in the process, but lost sight of the vehicle inside a trailer park. Taylor later identified Burns from a photo lineup, leading to Burns' arrest at a trailer in the 13200 block of Southwest Seventh Place. During the arrest, Burns kicked and punched an officer and later kicked at a window in a police car until being pepper-sprayed, the report said. Besides the battery charge, Burns also was charged with resisting with and without violence. Taylor declined further comment on the incident. Upon his release from jail Monday night, a shirtless Burns denied using a slur toward Taylor. "No, I'm not a racist person," Burns said. In December 2003, Taylor was identified by the FBI as being one of six active or retired professional athletes to receive a hate letter threatening him with physical harm for being married to a white woman. An FBI spokesman said similar letters were sent to prominent black politicians, entertainers and business leaders in a two-year span. Taylor, 31, is set to enter his 10th season with the Dolphins as one of the NFL's top defensive players. Taylor began his charity foundation in July 2004 with the focus on helping provide children improved health care, education and quality of life. Racist or not, it's crazy to be picking on a man the size of Jason Taylor. I wouldn't be the slightest bit unhappy to see his DNA removed from the gene pool.

Speaking of illegal immigration, racism, and what have you, Aryan website The Insurgent has a whole slew (a horde, if you will) of racist, flash-based video games, including "Border Patrol," in which you try to shoot illegal immigrants as they run across the US-Mexico border. A total of 88 of them fly across the screen in the space of maybe 10 seconds, but some of them are pregnant women with children, which count as multiple kills per hit. The little drug smugglers are the hardest of all to hit. I've played it maybe 10 times now (I know) and I've still yet to make it out of the 30s, but I'm playing on a laptop. Other games featured on the site include "Driveby 2 (Feel what it's like in the ghetto.)," "Watch Out Behind You Hunter! (Shoot the fags before they rape you!)," and "Kaboom! (Arab Training Game)." I liked the "Border Patrol" one best myself, but that "Driveby 2" is not to be slept on. Regardless of where you come down on the issue, you have to admit this is some hilarious ****. 66 Last edited by ICON; 05-02-2006 at 03:08 PM.. |

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/s...orts-headlines Ex-NFL player, wife charged with child abuse ![]() By RON WORD Associated Press JACKSONVILLE -- Former NFL offensive guard Rich Tylski and his wife were accused of hitting their adopted daughter with a belt, slamming her head on a table and other abuse that left the girl with broken bones in her hands and leg. The 35-year-old former Jacksonville Jaguars player and wife Jane, 36, were free on $20,000 bond each on the child abuse and neglect charges. They were released Wednesday after turning themselves in. A message left on their home answering machine was not immediately returned and it was unclear if they had lawyers. LocalLinks The child, whose age and name were not released, was taken to a Jacksonville hospital on March 10 for a fractured right thigh bone. Her parents said she had fallen down the stairs about eight hours earlier. Doctors found extensive bruising in various stages of healing. A skeletal survey found six or seven healing fractures in the child's hand, the police report stated. The girl later told investigators that she lied about falling down the stairs and she demonstrated on a doll how her mother had pushed her leg over her head until they heard a pop, the report said. The report also stated that Rich Tylski said he had hit the child with a belt. The Department of Children & Families told police the girl missed 14 days of school from October to March. During an interview on March 24, the child told investigators that her mother slammed her head on the table when she would not eat. She said both her mother and father hit her. She said a scar on her forehead was from her mother slamming her head into the table, but denied her mother hurt her leg, the police report said. In a second interview on April 3, the girl described how her mother would bend her fingers backward. All Pro Dad, which promotes active fatherhood, listed Tylski as an NFL player involved with the organization on its Web site. A call to its Tampa office was not immediately returned. DCF spokesman John Harrell said he could not discuss the Tylski case because of state confidentiality laws. ``Whenever we receive information that a child may be abused, we respond within a matter of hours. We investigate all cases of child abuse thoroughly wherever they may lead. Our No. 1 priority is child safety,'' he said. Tylski played the first four years of his career for the Jaguars, then spent four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and one year with the Carolina Panthers before retiring after the 2004 season. On the police report, he said he was self-employed. His wife did not list an employer on her arrest report. |

The phrase "crazy racist" is redundant. Is there such a thing as a sane racist?

Sure you can be sane and be a racist. I don't think you can categorize all of America as crazy during slavery. Or maybe you can, I don't know.
