I'm happy for Mike Bell. He grew up a Bronco fan and has realized the dream of any kid who every fantasized about playing professional sports, he gets to play for his favorite team.
Now make sure you make your favorite team's final roster, kiddo. |

Rashon Powers-Neal
FB | (6'2", 236, 4.8) | NOTRE DAME Strengths: Is a versatile FB/RB 'tweener type. He has good speed and athletic ability for the FB position. Shows good initial burst to the LOS and is a powerful north-south runner. runs with good pad-level and will push the pile. Will break a lot of arm tackles. Shows good vision and COD skills for a FB. Plants and drives quickly for his size. Shows the ability to be a successful cut-back runner when he's isolated on the "weakside" safety one-on-one. Will run over smaller defenders in space. Has improved his hands and feel in the passing game. Is a decent short-yardage outlet. Has learned to find soft spots in zone. Hands are above average and continue to improve. He has decent size and continues to get bigger. Shows decent initial pop as a blocker. Will work to finish once he has locked on. Shows good awareness in pass pro. Can slide over and pick up the blitzing LB. Has upside as a blocker. Weaknesses: Lacks the speed and elusiveness of an NFL tailback. Is too straight-lined as a runner. Does not show elusiveness in space and will rarely make defenders miss. Lacks a second gear when he breaks through the LOS. Does not show the speed to consistently turn the corner as an outside runner. Is improved as a receiver but still needs to become more consistent in terms of reading coverages and finding soft spots. Has some trouble separating from LB's one-on-one. Needs to continue to get bigger and stronger as a blocker. He is improved, but still lacks great technique. Enters the POA too high at times. Needs to show a wider base and more explosive power in the phone booth. Will take some poor angles and needs to do a more consistent job of getting his head around as an iso-blocker. DUI led to suspension as a senior in 2005. Overall: Powers-Neal was an on-and-off starter during his first three seasons at Notre Dame. He had his most carries as a freshman in 2002, when he finished with 333 yards and two TDs on 77 attempts. He was moved from tailback to fullback in 2003 and finished with just four carries. As a junior in 2004, Powers-Neal rushed for 28 yards and a TD on 13 attempts and also had 10 receptions for 72 yards and two TDs. He is being used much more as a ball carrier and receiver out of the backfield during his senior season in 2005. Powers-Neal wound up missing the final seven games due to a suspension after he was arrested for a DUI in 2005. He finished with 31 carries for 100 yards and six TD's, and nine catches for 90 yards as a senior. Powers-Neal has been a bit of a 'tweener RB/FB player while at Notre Dame. He lacks ideal size, toughness and blocking technique as a FB prospect right now, but he does not have the speed or elusiveness to project as even a reserve RB in the NFL. Thus, his best chance of making it at the next level is to move to a fulltime FB role and contribute on special teams. In order to do so, he must improve his bulk, strength, blocking skills and overall mentality. Powers-Neal was improving early in his senior season under new coach Charlie Weis, but his suspension proved to be a significant setback. As a result, there's a good chance that Powers-Neal goes undrafted in 2006 and will need to make it in the NFL as a free agent. |

The only thing I know about these guys (except for Bell) is that Rashaun got suspended for a DUI. Anybody else?

Position: DT Class: 5Sr School: Temple Conference: Big East Ht., Wt.: 6-2, 327 40 Time: 5.49 BIO: Became a full-time starter as a senior, posting career-best numbers of 66/5/1.5. POSITIVES: Big space-eater in the middle of the line who effectively stuffs the run. Explosive, naturally strong and gets push up the field. Hard to move off the point and wraps up ball carriers on initial contact. NEGATIVES: Lacks balance, is overweight and is constantly on the ground. Marginal pass-rushing skills. Injuries hampered him in the past. ANALYSIS: A massive tackle who takes up a lot of room, Burton has abilities at nose tackle if he properly conditions himself and continues to stay healthy. PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent |

Hey, I like Cutler. I'm just not ready to call him the next Elway, that's all. I always wanted Brandon and Eslinger. Check out the avatar. ![]() I really like the Mike Bell pick. He was at the top of my "Sleeper" list. |

Hey CO, is that Burton of Temple that same guy you were talking about a few days ago that the Broncos were showing interest in, I think you had a thread on that.

NC State seniors Brian Clark and Oliver Hoyte signed free agent contracts after not being selected in the 2006 NFL Draft. Clark, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver, inked with the Green Bay Packers. As a senior, Clark tallied 25 catches for 537 yards and a team-high six touchdowns. Clark averaged 21.5 yards per catch as the Wolfpack's go-to |

Hmmm, that is strange. This happened last year. The Broncos had announced they signed someone, can't remember who, but it turned out that they hadn't. Same thing happened or the NC State site has it wrong...

I think this draft was incredible. The Broncos did the right thing going after offense this year. |
