Default What were you doing when we picked Clarett?

Its one of those frozen moments in time for me. I was wondering if you guys had the same kind of experience.

I was driving home from Salisaw OK, near my hometown of Tahlequah. It was about 1015PM central. I was listening to the draft coverage on Sirius, and literally had to pull over when they announced the pick. I'm not sure who was laughing harder.. myself, or the analysts...

Sitting in the same chair I'm sitting in right now. I was happy with the pick. So it didn't bother me.

I think the world was shocked. "The Denver Broncos select Maurice Clarett" and everyones jaws dropped to the floor. It had the potential to turn out ok.

Too bad he was a drunk.

I drank quite a bit the night before and woke up with a wicked hangover. So naturally I started drinking at like 9 the next morning (you know, to take the edge off) and ended up passing out again right after we made our first pick.

I was absolutely dumbfounded when I woke up 6 hours later and learned that we drafted Clarett. Not in a bad way, I actually started to picture big things for the kid in our scheme, but it just wasn't something I EVER expected.

Of course, hindsight blah blah blah...

I was friggin furious that we passed up Vincent Jackson and drafted DB after DB. I was thinking "wow.. this draft couldn't suck any more ass... unless we take that POS from Ohio State"

My friend and I were at the the ESPN Zone in downtown Denver watching the draft. I was eating a philly sandwich when the pick was up. My friend says semi-scarcaticly "Clarett is still in the boards, we could pick him". I looked at him and about to choke on my philly and I heard "The Broncos select Marice Clarett." I still hold him reponseable for that pick.

Sittin on the couch waiting for the draft day to end. When I saw the smirk on Tag's face I started banging my head against the wall. Refused to go out to dinner with wife and kids and just fumed the night away.

I was at my friends house and I went downstairs. When I came up, he started to laugh at me. I tried to play it off, like "well, if he can do it with anyone, it'll be with us."

I was watching from my garage and just remember thinking.......maybe he'll be the next W. McGahee? Sometimes my commitment to the Broncos is toxic. At least it brought about a Shannahan actually admitting he made a mistake....a memorable day.

Time slowed for me as well. My Jaw was hanging open and I just stared at the screen for five minutes. I forget who it was, but one of the ESPN analysts just laughed into the air and started clapping. That was certainly something.

That was Tory Holt. He was happy as hell for MoClarett. And then Mo let everyone rooting for him down .

I was actually at the hospital with my brother when his appendix burst, but I did make it to the waiting room long enough to catch the MoC pick

On the phone with my dad, since one of us will call the other when Denver is on the clock. I think I dropped multiple f-bombs in about a 15 second time period.
