Default Bush now wants to give control of military manufacturing plants to Dubai

Bush okays Dubai military deal

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday April 27, 2006

Print This | Email This

President Bush is expected on Friday to announce his approval of a deal under which a Dubai-owned company would take control of nine plants in the United States that manufacture parts for American military vehicles and aircraft, say two administration officials familiar with the terms of the deal, the NEW YORK TIMES will report Friday. Excerpts:
#

The officials, who were granted anonymity so they could speak freely about something the president had not yet announced, said that the final details had not yet been set and that Bush might put conditions on the transaction to keep military technology in the United States.

But his action is almost certain to attract scrutiny in Congress, because of the political furor that erupted over the administration’s approval of a deal earlier this spring that would have given another Dubai-owned company, Dubai Ports World, leases to operate several American port terminals through its acquisition of a British company, the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co.

In this case, the plants in question are owned by Doncasters Group Ltd., a British company that is being purchased for $1.2 billion from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group by Dubai International Capital, which is owned by the United Arab Emirate government.

I support GW to a point. I am though , having some reservations. Do I fully believe what was posted as "truth" by the press in this situation. No. However, AGAIN I am raising my eyebrow at GW and going, OK what's going on now? Impeachment? Ain't happenin guys , get over it. However, I will join you in your thought process if this turns out to be true. First the border , now other stuff. It's beginning to bother me...dman

Raising eyesbrows? Supporting a clueless puppet makes one a puppetmaster!
Impeachment will happen, once we can CAN the whole clan! Having a Dick and a Bush in the White house at the same time has been a complete disaster!

IT a second tier defense contractor that make metal parts/turbines blades for engines used by Army in M-1A and select aircraft. Please note that plant will be in the US, operated by US citizens with government tech-reps in place to inspect things. It really not dealing with classified stuff.

Get a clue, nobody is being impeached anytime soon. Second, Don't think the Bush supporters out there aren't just as bent about some of these issues as you are. We are in some cases. Other cases though, to be honest, the press has mucked it up to the point where no one knows whats up or down. Items that have mucked up to the point where the truth is so muddled by the press that you can get a good read on what it really is, I can't worry about. The immigration issue, I can, I have a good take on the facts. And yes, as far as I'm concerned, Ole GW has let the entire country down ALONG WITH the rest of our elected officials. I take great issue with him on this one point, BUT he will not be impeached because of it/......dman

Says you. Bush has plenty of sh*t hanging over his head to be impeached for and a lot more still coming up.

We find out in Nov. for sure if he will or not.

You're right. Says me. Just my take. Others have a different take, have at it. Numerous presidents have had plenty of s**t hanging over their collective heads in the past, and weren't impeached. Clinton came close, he had plenty garbage in his closet, and he came out of it fine. The same will happen with Bush...dman

*Be advised though, the NEXT election, I'll be looking at BOTH parties if not ALL party candidates. We simply cannot continue to vote via the PARTY method any longer, we have to target the best of the worst no matter what party. Hopefully, a candidate will step up and do the country a good job overall from 2008 -12. I honestly do not care what party they are from, all long as they do a good job. People need to focus on the candidate, NOT the party. I'm sick of both the REPUBS and the DEMS...dman

* We REALLY need an outstanding PRES next time around, I am very worried about the future of our country. Throw in a worthwhile congress and I'll really be happy. Discount ANY candidate based on party, you are cutting your own throat at this point in our history.

Name me a President (other than William Henry Harrison, the best President the US has ever had namely because he died 32 days after taking office and thus had no time to screw things up) who didn't deserve to be impeached for failing to fulfill his oath of office, namely:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Name me a single President that has taken the above literally and followed it exactly.

I'm not interested in the resume of past presidents just what the current one is doing to the country.

The PROBLEM is , "impeachment" is the buzz word for both parties these days. It's like those americans that are "sue" happy and claim "racism" is the reason for their shortcomings. Politicians are no different than the lot of them and I group nearly all of them in with the ones who sue at the drop of a hat or claim racism exists on every corner. NEVER ONCE looking the mirror to possibly consider THEY are the problem. That said, can you "vote" for a party anymore, NO. Their goal is to sabotage the "enemy party" , NOT Help the country. It's a joke.....in addition, each party, whoever they may be, will claim the other parties "president" should be impeached. Give me a break, never happen, not anymore. The whole mess is a travesty of justice, the american people stuck smack dab in the middle of it. The immigration issue is a perfect example of the entire brush stroke. What a joke. Time to get back to basics and "putdown" the Whittier, CA's of the country and call them out for what they really are, unamerican....dman

This is not a PARTY issue (not for me) , it's a problem with the arrogance of the current administration. Not only Bush, but his cohorts! The impeachment proceeding would only be successful if it included Cheney!

Well thank the Lord Jesus that Jehova reached down and plucked our Christian President, George W Buch, and put him in office after that Rapist/Traitor Drop Trou sold our military secrets to the Godless Communist Chinks.

The violations of their oaths of past Presidents, for which they were not impeached (nor were even under threat of impeachment) is irrelevant to you - which reveals the inconsistencies of your views.

Why impeach Bush when he's done nothing worse than past Presidents?

Because it's time to send the message that we as a nation will not stand by and watch our country being destroyed by an administration which does not represent the views of the citizens!
Then, and only then will the future Presidents realize they must represent the citizens, not only those who finance their elections!
