I think the idea that GB is going to give up the #5 pick is pure fantasy at this point. Unlike their known willingness to trade Walker, there is nothing out there that says they're willing to trade their pick.

Would you trade the #5 pick in this draft? Why?

If I were GB I would seriously consider it. Let's face it - this team is in a rebuilding phase with multiple needs. Favre coming back might keep them respectable but that's about it. With a deal like this they move back 10 spots and pick up an extra early No. 2, maybe a No. 4, rid themselves of a player at WR who they will, at best, have for one more season, and maybe pick up a serviceable WR who may stay beyond one year. Value-wise our #15 and first No. 2 equal pretty close to #4. Lelie and a #4 is pretty fair for Walker. I think it makes sense.

Yeah, but their most crucial need is at LB, and they're sitting right there with AJ Hawk dropping into their lap. This guy is like another Butkus. Old School. The perfect Packer. They're going to absolutely love him up there. He'll make the whole defense better. I just don't see why they would trade out.

Maybe not but there are some pretty good LB's who would be available at #15 too.

I would not, if I were GB, trade that pick. They can read the value of a VD that same way everyone else can. Also, they know they can trade Walker without giving up the 5 pick. They will also find a LB at the top of round two, as well. But with Favre back, VD makes it possible he may be more effective for them.

Point is, the Broncos will likely be picking at 15 tomorrow. I don't think a trade for Walker will be finished until later this summer. Wabbit intimated as such in another thread on this august board, elsewhere. Like.
