wonder how much is real money, I kinda wonder same thing about arrington's deal since they both wanted "the big deal."

I'm sure it's actually a two or three year deal. Contracts never mean what they say anymore.

I'd be shocked if that deal isn't heavily loaded to the end of the contract with maybe a decent sized signing bonus to pro rate over 7 yrs..........

even with all their cap space i'm surprised c-wood got a deal that large

It would make no sense to backload a deal when they are so far under the cap right NOW. They aren't going to use all that cap space this season, so it makes sense to burn a bunch of it this year. Meaning he got ALOT up front, which is why he signed there is my guess.

You are correct. He got zero signing bonus and something like a 10 million dollar salary for 2007 according to PFT

Just think if Bailey hit the market how many teams would be interested, I am surprised it took so long for woodson to strike a deal, he is a good player when healthy but was never as good as hyped. At least he didn't go to KC.

the backload is to appease arrington and poston that he got a "big deal"

One of the determining factors in Woodson signing with Green Bay was head coach Mike McCarthy agreed to let him play on offense as well as play cornerback.

Tampa wanted him to play strong safety, I think that had a lot to do with it. Cornerbacks make more money!

When was Woodson burnt heavily?

Sounds like sour grapes to me. And PFT lifted that story from the Packers beatwriter, PFT was all over Moss to the Raiders. They're hit and miss, but so is everyone else.

I don't know about burnt heavily but he is one of the most overrated CBs in the NFL and always has been. McCaffery used to eat him for lunch.
