Default Broncos top the list for Walker and Williams?

According to Adam Schefter anyway

Packers | Team fielding calls and offers for J. Walker
Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:31:16 -0700

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Green Bay Packers have begun fielding telephone calls, and offers, in terms of trying to decide whether it is worth it to trade disgruntled WR Javon Walker. The Packers made it clear they only will trade Walker for the right price, a high price. Teams at the top of the list include the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles, but there are at least three other confirmed teams that weighed in Monday, April 24. There is no shortage of suitors for Walker, meaning that it is looking more and more as if Green Bay will trade Walker.

Dolphins | Williams' decision could come Tuesday; he also could be traded
Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:36:28 -0700

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams could find out his football fate for the 2006 season as early as Tuesday, April 25. Should the league reinstate Williams, then the Dolphins could begin fielding offers for their running back and try to trade him before the NFL Draft. There would be interest in Williams and the Denver Broncos could head up that list. The Broncos already were involved in talks with the Dolphins this winter, when word of Williams' potential suspension leaked out.

IMO trading any kind of draft pick for Ricky Williams is Maurice Clarett saga version II. In other words Shanahan taking his biggest chance ever on a player.

I'd take Walker but it really depends on the price. A high 2nd rd pick is far too high for a FA in 2007 with an ACL injury.

I am not high on Ricky either, but apparently shanny is, and thats why i say, dont get any higher than a day 2 pick.

I dont want Walkers contract demands or 'tude, but i do want his skills here. (if Lelie goes)

What would we be willing to give up for Williams? The guy is a huge risk and we all know Shanny loves his risks. I really wouldn't want to go higher than a 3 for him though. Would the fish go for that?

as long as we dont give up the 2nd round pick we just acquired from San Fran, i'm okay with anything lower than that.

61? yeah, i would do it.

The Cheeseheads wanted a 1st rd pick initially and other rumour sites are now stating that it's 37 they're after. I just hope that Shanny doesn't give in too cheaply because of our depth problems at receiver.

Wouldn't it be nice to be linked with a player that's got f*** all wrong with them for a change But then I suppose if you want quality at a cheap price you have to take all the other **** that comes with it.

I would really like to get Walker, but can Plummer get him the ball deep!? Plummer stuggled to do that with Lelie.

Walker is an excellent route runner and isn't only a dep threat like Lelie. I think Lelie can make some of the most amazing catches Ive ever seen, but he's just not physical enough. Walker, if healthy, would be the perfect fit here.

Seriously though would you risk the 37th pick in this draft on a player who hasn't played a down since a serious injury or a 4th rd pick on a guy 1 joint away from a year's vacation

Hoepfully Ricky stays suspended so that we dont waste a pick in a trade for him.

To me a 4th rounder is more of a risk than RW. And any draft choice would be as risky as betting on Jevon's knee getting back to 100%. ACL surgery is almost routine these days, and Walker didn't have a lot of collateral damage. He'll be a full year removed come opening week, and our offense would be hugely upgraded.

He has had to have the most picks traded for him in the history of the league.

Risky Ricky... on the field, in our system he's a top 3 back! He can run, there's no question about that!!! If Shanny can help guys like G-Money stay motivated I'll give him some room to work with Ricky-Fu. Unfortunately, with Ricky you're rolling the dice. I look at it this way. Shanny is prepared to go into the season with Dayne and Bell as his crew, he'll probably draft a RB somewhere along the way as well. Plus we have Cobbs in the wings. I'd take the chance on Ricky. If it's a 4th I'm happy as all get out. If it's a 3rd I'm still happy, but a little worried at the same time.

We better not give up #37 for Javon Walker. If we can't get a high 2nd for Lelie, Javon shouldnt get that.

Walker is better than Lelie, and his team DOESN'T want to trade him. That does not seem to be out situation.

Sure, before he was hurt. I don't give up a 2nd round pick for damaged goods, i hope the broncos won't either.

Some on this board would nut themselves into oblivion if Denver traded for Williams and Walker.
