sorry we won't be seeing the avs coming to Hockeytown in round one since matching up with Edmonton will be a much tougher test, especially with the travel.

I just got back in town from Calgary. I was not too happy to see the Avs get shut out by Kipper, but the rest of my trip was a blast.

Since the calendar turned to 2006 I went to Invesco to see the Broncos lose the AFC Championship game against Pittsburgh, DU hockey went 0-4 in the games I attended, including that horrible season-ending Sunday loss to Minnesota St., and the Avs went 0-4 in games I went to. I have first round playoff tickets and will give them away since I'm officially a jinx.

I did see the Colorado Mammoth beat the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night, so I'm not sure if that counts as breaking my jinx. I'm not going to test it, though.

So how did their arena compare to others, Breck? Did you have to sit in one of those cheesy wooden seats? And how'd you like that flame thing shooting out when they scored? I do think it's cool, but man it sucks to see it happen!

As i recall, Q's only NHL head coaching experience was with STL. He was an assistant for the Diques/Avs, before that, no? At any rate, the guy's just another mid-grade coach, IMO.

JK seriously think the sharks are going to contend for the title because they just shredded the ducks the other night.

Dammit, hoping the ducks would get a quick exit from the playoffs, if they play a canadian team then I would hope the Ducks win and get blown out in the second round.

Crawford used to have Maple Loaf connections as he used to be head coach of their farm team in the AHL in the early 90's. If the Canucks dismantle the team and ditch GM, coach and Naslund/Bert, Toronto could be the likely destination of Crawford and perhaps some of the big name players to boot.
