blah blah blah blah blah

it was UNintentional, cole turned INTO the hit, and brooks held up, and didn't drive him into the boards with anything more than his chest. He dropped his hands going into the check -

it's 3 games, and my pens sucks - bite me

sorry, i'll take his word

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06066/666297.stm

Between practice at Mellon Arena and the teleconference yesterday, Orpik pleaded his case with reporters for the second consecutive day.

"The whole thing was an accident," he said. "It was unfortunate. I mean, I go at it with him every game [against Carolina]. I think we do it in a clean way, a competitive way. I think we actually play well against each other.

"He's a physical guy. It wasn't premeditated at all. That's the one thing I want to stress about the whole thing, and I hope he moves on and gets better quickly and gets back on the ice."

YAHOOOO! It appears Loungo will head to LA!

Quote:
If the rumors are true, the Los Angeles Kings are close to acquiring world-class goaltender Roberto Luongo from the Florida Panthers. Speculation has the Kings feverishly working on a blockbuster deal to land Luongo for goalie Mathieu Garon and a package of players.

The trade is one of many in the works as the National Hockey League's annual trade deadline approaches at 3 p.m. ET Thursday.
The Luongo deal, which surfaced last weekend in the Los Angeles Times, has the potential to elevate the Kings to one of the league's elite teams as they prepare for the Stanley Cup playoffs. That's a place Luongo probably wouldn't have experienced this season, given the disappointing year the Panthers have had.

The Kings, meanwhile, are looking to position themselves for a serious run at the Cup. They have reportedly been in discussions with Washington about veteran defenseman Brendan Witt, who earlier this year asked to be traded. They have offered prospects in return

Crosby with a goal and an assist. Just saved the Pens from giving up another goal too.

4-3 TB late in the 3rd.

Aebischer was the Avs best player tonight. If he played like he did against the Wild, the Avs would have had no points. The Avs played like crap for most of the game.

Just have to cross your fingers regarding Svatos.

Hejduk and Skrastins played well also. Tonight's game was one that can really set a team on fire. They were clearly squeezing their sticks tightly and rightfully so. They can no longer overwhelm teams by their sheer talent. They're a good team though, and they can have some say in the Stanley Cup tournament.

Tanguay has always been a Canadian born euro. He just really likes to set up plays, and not finish them. He's an outstanding player, but he could have been a fine finisher. I'm definitely glad he's on our side. I just wish he'd shoot the gawd damned puck more. Anyone remember game seven 2001?

Patrice Brisbois makes Martin Skoula look like a physical defenseman...F the Les Habitantes(sp?) for making that Polly-Anna the Avs' problem. And F the Avs for letting Adam Foote skate off to Columbus.

That was good to see. It was also nice to see him do something other than shooting forehand to the high glove side like he always does on breakaways. I think he totally fooled Sanford by faking forehand and roofing it backhand. Awesome move by the Duke.

Also nice to see Joey score an important goal.

How the hell did Tanguay not end the game in OT? Sometimes he frustrates the hell out of me, yet he made the nice move to set up Sakic's goal.

winning in a shootout against the worst team in hockey is nothing to be proud of, but they needed something to build on after the last two horrendous outings.
