The fight isnt over yet. It was nice to see Evgeni give the 2 weeks notice, but I think the Russians might play that 2 year military service card. We really need to get him over here pronto. He literally needs to get on a plane with his family TODAY.

I'm not the only one unnerved at the comment of Metallurg's GM Velichin a few weeks ago when he said that Malkin would not give the notice because he's a "smart guy....a decent guy".

And the RSL has a long history of being affiliated with organized crime. They need to get him AND his family on a plane to Pittsburgh NOW!!!!

Both TSN and Sportsnet are reporting that the Phoenix Coyotes are close to signing Owen Nolan.

There are also rumors that Phil Kessel will leave Minnesota and sign with the Boston Bruins.

From reports I have seen, Montreal is Dumont's number one choice. However, the Habs stand at about 41 million in total salaries and would want to move some salary in order to fit in Dumont. Detroit has ruled themselves out of the Dumont sweepstakes. I've heard LA is intersted, but haven't heard much else.

It is a garbage rumor.....Shero is not that dumb. We didnt go through all of this **** to now trade him.

Malkin is a perennial all-star player and is going to be the best two way center in the entire league for the next 15 years. The rumor makes zero sense. We cant even afford all those guys anyway.

I'd personally burn Shero's ****ing house down. It makes ZERO sense whatsoever. We are all set to have the best center combo in the league and we have been working our asses off to get him over here. There is NO way this is even legit.

Here's an idea:

Every team submits a list of players and/or picks that they would give to the Pens in exchange for Malkin. Then a 29-team cross-country chase ensues. Whoever finds Malkin first gets to make their trade.

Ryder scored 30 goals, 25 assists. Ribeiro had 16 goals and 36 assists.

Both are only 26 years old. It's a steal for the Pens.

Why do you think Malkin's going to be as good as Crosby or Ovechkin?

Because Malkin has outstanding speed on the ice, he can just glide by people. He is a goalscorer, but like Crosby has excellent vision and can be a playmaker too. He is also superior right now to both of them defensively and is a very dangerous on the PK. He is big and physical. He is just as good as those two. Ovechkin himself said, in an interview about 2 months ago, that Malkin was the best of the three, himself included.

I cant wait to have two all world centers on this team, and in a few years Staal will be ready, although I still wish Shero would have traded him for Jack Johnson. The offer was there, straight up and we refused.

A lot of Selkes in his future, that's for sure.
