Great news for Flyer fans.

Forsberg might be ready at the start of the season.

Hope it's true. Good luck #21.

Good. I hope he gets a full season in with the Flyers before he makes his return to Colorado for 2007-'08.

I'd say it's more about hoping than anything else. I believe that he'll likely retire at the end of the coming season, but if he does decide to play another year, why not bring him back for one more go 'round in Colorado? Barring any more unforseen bonuses, the Avs are going to be in fine shape cap-wise next summer.

Keep hope alive.

I wonder if this is how Bruins fans felt when they lost Bourque.

I don't know. He was there about twice as long as Forsberg was here and was held in the same reverance as the likes of Orr and Neely. Most of them were happy to see him go somewhere to get a shot at the Cup and even happier when he won it.

Come on Mt, you know you'd weep tears of joy if Forsberg came back for one more year with the Avs.

And bringing Foppa back would be without question the one thing Avalanche management can do to win back the fans they've pissed off in the 2005 and 2006 offseasons.

No doubt about that. It'd buy back a lot of the good will that's been lost, that's for sure.

I don't know. Did Ray have just as many fans because of his looks rather than his play like Peter does?

I honestly don't know. It take a bit of getting used to. I think I'd be happy to have him back...but in the back of my mind, I'd still be thinking about those 2 years. I think it's the whole hockey fan scorned deal at play here.

Just in case, I won't get rid of the jerseys yet. I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything with them, but I certainly haven't gotten them out either.

I don't know how true that is. I suspect that is a pot shot at me? I've never in my life picked a favorite player based on the whole looks deal. Sometimes I think women get a raw deal when they pick a fave that happens to be good looking as well.

Truthfully, I never thought he was all that great looking....now Jose on the other hand is hot....but about half worthless. Shame.

I like what DL has done this offseason. At the halfway point last season the Kings were number 2 or 3 in the standings. There was a huge breakdown in the season with Character problems. So DL has made it a priority not to blow up the roster but rather pick up character players and veterans to mesh with the young players that we have. We have alot of young players on the team like O'sullivan, Anze Kopitar (18 years old should be VERY GOOD already getting rave reviews from our development camp this week), Konstantin Pushkarev ,Tim Gleason, Dustin Brown, Alexander Frolov and the list goes on. So DL acquired veteran character players to show these young guns how to play and work hard etc. From what im hearing the Kings will probably make another trade and possibly another signing for Lindros/Peca/Nolan etc.

I've always maintained the position that he's my favorite player, regardless of which jersey he's wearing. There would be no adjustment period needed for me, it'd almost be like he never left.

Anyway, this is all just speculation. Odds are he's headed back across the pond for good once this season is over anyway, so this is likely all moot.

Still, it's always nice to dream.

I know, you have always stuck to your guns on that. I guess I'm just not like that. My favorite player has to be a member of my favorite team...that's just my criteria.

It still burns my ass to no end, in case you guys couldn't tell.

Nothing like bringing in Eric & Carl Lindros for character and to help the younger players .

Funny Carl Lindros is not even involved in Eric's hockey affairs anymore....good try though Breck.

That's good for the Kings, then. At least they won't have to deal with that distraction during the 23 games Eric will play in next season.

yeah I can't disagree with you there given his history but the Kings have yet to sign him, for all I know Peca could sign with us but I hear he will go to the Leafs. The Kings need one more top 6 center/forward to complete the roster.

No, not you or any of the other female hockey fans here. More of a general statement, 950 was full of calls the first few days after he signed about distraught women that didn't know what to do now that he was gone.

Ahhh. Those goofy females make the rest of us look like a bunch of dumbasses when they do stuff like that.
