Congrats to Rod Brind'Amour for finally getting to lift the Cup. Again, well deserved.

There really is nothing cooler than watching the Stanley Cup be awarded. Even though I was rooting for the Oil, it was really cool to see Rod Brindamour ( sp ) lift that Cup up. Very cool for Glen Wesley and Doug Weight too. That was a great game to watch.

Just very cool. It still brought tears to my eyes to see Rod lift the Cup, even though I'm not a Canes fan. I'm lame, I know.

Congrats to the Canes. And congrats to Jussi Markkanen who played a helluva lot better than I thought he would. I thought they were done when Rolo went down.

I wait all year for the skate around the ice at homeby the Stanley Cup Champion. The greatest celebration in sports in my opinion.

And Carolina doesn't circle the ice with the Cup. WTF?

No kidding. He gets back from his vacation and one of the first things he feels compelled to do is come in and trash on hockey.....again.

I'm not too happy NBC cut away when Carolina was still lifting the Cup. God forbid they show that instead of Entertainment fucking Tonight.

I thought it was hilarious that Brind'Amour didn't pose with the Cup with Bettman.

They allowed way too many non-players on the ice for the Stanley Cup presentation. Only players, coaches, and staff should be allowed on the ice for the presentation. Let the families come on towards the end for picture taking and such.

I was rooting for Edmonton, though I have nothing to dislike about Carolina and it was nice seeing Brind'Amour, Weight, Wesley, Hedican and the old guys raise the Cup for the first time. The two teams gave us an excellent finals.

Man, we were so close to getting overtime in game 7. I thought Pisani was going to get his second goal there towards the end of the third period. Imagine the celebration for an overtime goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Justin Williams about jumped out of the building after scoring an easy empty netter to clinch the Cup.

I think Chris Pronger has elevated himself above Scott Neidermayer and Niklas Lidstrom as the best defenseman in the NHL. He was incredible this playoffs.

No question. I remember when the underdog Red Wings swept his Flyers. Eric Lindros disgraced the C on his sweater by ducking out of the lockerroom and avoiding the media after every loss. Brind'Amour stood up and faced down testy and impatient reporters in his place and he was total class in every way.

Yes it is. They'd better not do a token Stanley Cup visit to Hartford.

I hope like hell that it chapped Lindros' spoiled ass in the worst way to watch Brind'Amour hoist the Cup tonight. Especially considering the urban legend that surrounds Brindy's exit from Philly.

There was some guy on the ice wearing an old green Whalers sweater during the Stanley Cup presentation. I got a good chuckle seeing that. The Whale had the coolest uniforms back in the day.

I guess I don't know about that urban legend? Anyone want to help me out here?

The story goes something like this. Lindros nailed Brindy's wife. This (needless to say) caused friction in the locker room. Bobby Clarke knew that one of them had to go. Clarke didn't (at that time) want to trade his star player. Clarke shipped out the popular Brind'Amour. The Flyer players weren't happy at all about it. Rick Tocchet coldcocked Lindros in the locker room, softening his skull even further.

Again, this is rumor and urban legend, so take it as you will.

I think it was that Lindros supposedly slept with Brind'Amour's wife.

The Bruins are apparently dangling the 5th overall pick. If you can't get into the top five, I'm not sure it's worth moving up.

Urban legend or not, it's pretty humorous....specially that last part. Thanks for the info.

I'll offer them the 18th pick, Alex Tanguay + for the 5th pick and take whoever's left of Staal, Toews, Kessel or Backstrom.
