I think he's Puck33 at hfboards and I haven't seen him there in a while, either.

This is a tough series to predict. I think Carolina has the better overall team and Edmonton has the better goalie. I'll guess that the long layoff will hurt the Oilers and Carolina raises the Cup in game 6.

Puck33 has been a no show...maybe he is on vacation.

1-0 Oil....oh and the Canes may want to invest in a new anthem singer. Pretty or not...that chick can't hold a tune.

Carolina fans are crying foul on every bodycheck...typical American hockey fans.

Change American to southern and you might be close.

I can't believe nobody has posted after that crazy third period. What a terrible ending to a great game. Carolina should thank its lucky stars that Roloson is out, especially after they got to play against the defensemanless Sabres last round.

What a crazy game. Hopefully Roloson will be okay. Cam Ward...wow...

Anybody else think of Game Four of the 01 Cup Finals after that play for Conklin?

The Canes fans throwing stuff on the ice was wrong, but it's happened in other places. I still remember the Halloween game in Vancouver a few years back.

Well, the guys in here are atypical American hockey fans. There are good hockey cities, and Denver's obviously one of them. Detroit, many of the NE cities too...

Anaheim though...yikes.

For the sake of all things holy...I agree. If Edmonton has to go with Conklin they may have some serious problems.

Cam Ward made 3 of the best saves I've ever seen...amazing.

Jesus, that sucks. We're looking at an almost 100% chance that Carolina sweeps now. Ty Conklin is just not an NHL calibre goalie, let alone one that starts in the Stanley Cup Finals.

We just went from the possibility of a great series to a terrible one in a single moment. I bet Bergeron feels terrible that his check led to Roloson's injury.

I disagree. True American hockey fans are just as smart and knowledgeable about the game as Canadians. American sports fans and media are ignorant of hockey.

Fair enough...my point was simply that there are American hockey cities, and there are some that lack the tradition and hardcore following.

But yea, everytime I see that Jay Mariotti guy on "Around the Horn" whining about how much hockey sucks I want to punch his face in...

Did you watch the game that was bull**** the Refs were terrible. I was sitting in a box about 30 seats from the ice, some of those calls were bull****. The Penelty shot should not have happened Recchi got crosschecked and was on the ground with the puck under him and people falling all over him he wasent trying to freeze it. Half the trips that they called the palyer was in the process of a fall before a canes player ever even got close to them. I have to say that the fans throwing towels on the ice was uncalled for but they were frustrated. Carolina was not skating well in the first two periods but when they got in-sinc they were 10 fold the better team. It pains me to see Roloson hurt I would have loved to see the Oilers lose full strength. Hemskeys goal was sick, Williams goal was sick, and Whitney is just the man what a cluth player...Save the best for last Brind-Amor is a GOD...

I don't think Recchi was even the guy who got called for covering the puck in the crease...correct me if I'm wrong. I remember some bad calls, but that wasn't exactly my point.

Yotes hire notorious scumbag Ulf Samuelsson as an assistant coach.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=167955&hubname=

One question, when did Ulf start turning into Gary Busey?

Not playoff stuff, but I'm sure SoCal and Ames would be interested. Kyle Woodlief from Red Line Report was on the Caps Report today, and he thinks a trade between the Caps and Pens is more likely than any other move at the top.

Sport-Express has a fresh interview with Tretiak:
http://www.sport-express.ru/art.shtml?122434

As far as I can translate, the main points:
- Bettman unambiguously stated that if Russia does not sign the agreement, NHL will prevent all Russian players under a contract from participating at 2007 WC (in Moscow, of all places!)
- Bettman specifically mentioned that granting Ovechin a release this year should be considered a goodwill gesture toward Tretiak, and that it will not ever be repeated.
- Tretiak seems to be very much in favor of signing, because he claims Russian players can apparently easily break their contract given Russian labor laws - and Americans allegedly know it very well. In Tretiak's opinion, the real question now stands whether Russians will or will not be able to use their players at the WC next year.
- Tretiak will inform all the RSL team Presidents about the results of negotiations on Friday (6/9). Tretiak hopes they would be able to come with a solution then.

Good job, Gary. Git R Done.

I'd guess Toews since Chicago is supposed to love him. I'd rather stay at #4. With EJ going #1, at least 2 of Kessel, Staal, Backstrom, and Toews would be there to choose from at their spot.
