Marc-Andre Fleury has been outstanding in goal so far. We'd be down 4-0 with Caron or T-Blow instead of being down 1-0 right now. Some really nice saves. Ofcourse, the defense is hanging him out to dry the entire first period, multiple turnovers in our own zone.

Sid ties it up and comes close to putting them ahead a few seconds later.

Caps up 4-0 at the end of 2. Ovy with 1g and 3a, all 3 are primaries.

and I believe that as of now, with tonight's games still going on, AO and SC are tied with 29 points, 16 and 13 to 13 and 16.

Well, I got another set of free tix to go see the Ducks take on the Hurricanes tonight. I feel dirty not going to see the Avs play but hey, at least its hockey! The Ducks have been talking about trading Giguere lately, but their 6 game win streak has effectively stopped talks for awhile.

You should go just to watch Eric Staal. That kid is dynamite.

I've been hearing he's been one of the best young centers to blossom in ages. Hard to believe the kid is only 21, but already considered one of the elites amongst his peers.

I expect this to be a pretty high scoring affair tonight since Carolina has had some serious problems with their goaltending lately. But I still feel dirty not watching the Avs. Clocky, would you go to rivals games if you were offered free tickets?

Absolutely. Hockey's hockey and it's always better in person.

according to kdka radio - mario was taken to the hospital with an irregular heartbeat -

LEMIEUX ENTERS HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION OF IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT
12/07/2005

Mario Lemieux was admitted to the hospital Wednesday for observation of an irregular heartbeat, it was announced by Penguins General Manager Craig Patrick.

Lemieux, who will be monitored in the hospital overnight, will miss Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild at Mellon Arena. His playing status will be day-to-day after that.

“Mario experienced an irregular heartbeat after practice today, and we thought the best precaution was to have him enter the hospital for observation,” Patrick said.

Lemieux, 40, has missed two games in recent weeks because of a stomach virus.

In 25 games this season, he has 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points.

Default Pens Trade Rumors

Rumor mill -- There's talk on Long Island that Mike Milbury is less than enthused with the play of defensemen Janne Niinimaa and Alexei Zhitnik and that Pittsburgh GM Craig Patrick might be willing to swap one of his offensive defensemen (Sergei Gonchar or Dick Tarnstrom) for some defensive stability. If that's the case, both GMs might be interested in Columbus Blue Jackets' stay-at-home defenseman Adam Foote.

The "black and gold" trade...
Bruins get: LeClair and Tarnstrom
Pens get: Isbister and Gill

#2
Islanders get: Palffy, Koltsov and Jackman
Pens get: Blake and Sopel

The "give a little, get a little (guy)" trade...
Tampa Bay gets: Recchi, Prijeta and Orpik
Pens get: St. Loius and Sarich

#4
St. Louis gets: Malone and Gonchar
Pens get: Tkachuk and Backman

"Craig Patrick seriously intent... moves encouraged prior to Olympic break; more to come.

From what ive been watching all year, thats apparently what we are trying to accomplish as well.

Halfway through tonight's game, its 3-0 Wild and we have 8 shots. Sad thing is, the way they are playing, it could be 5-0 easily, T-Blow is actually having a good night.

Its ok. I already have my eyes on another No. 1 overall pick.

How many more will it take for the Pens to be competitive?

Pens still have some work to do in the rebuilding process but the foundation is there.

They need to spend some high picks on some blue chip defensemen.
