Brunette makes up for 2003

And big props to Jose...it's nice to see him have a great game like that going into the next series.

That's the kind of game that gives me too much stress. I swear hockey can drive you insane.

Yes. Tay-o-door was outstanding today he made all the big saves he and the AVS needed. The stars strategy of shooting the puck in at Jose from all over the place kind of backfired today...he was good with the glove thus preventing second and third chances.

I thought the AVS did a great job in the series of not allowing the stars to be as physical as they wanted. I believe they actually out hit them today. They neutralized the star's size and strength advantage by moving the puck, and out skating dallas.

I was glad to see Modano back on the ice after that brutal hit he took from Clark. I'm a Modano fan.

A fine series win for the AVS, and Tay-o-door earned his scratch today.

Next.

Theodore finally stole one and earned some much needed confidence. The Avs finally managed to finish off an opponent without getting too terribly overextended. Great job by all involved.

Thanks Mulletrose!

What a shocking outcome...the Stars had it all in their favor & lose the series four games to one...although it should be noted that three games went to OT & could've gone either way.

Still...considering the youth & the injuries limiting the Avs through the course of this season...bodes well for the future of this team.

The Stars weren't quite the same with no shootouts to save them.

Yeah, that's true...the Avalanche stunk up the place with those shoot-outs...never could figure out why.

Also, you can't help but notice their 5-on-5 play seems greatly improved from years past.

That's because they aren't looking to "play pretty". Those grind em out goals picking up trash in front of the net looked pretty darn beautiful today.

Is there a thumb your nose smilie? If so, I'd post it 50 times to Mr. Bettman.

I've always wondered why those skates have been so popular. I owned a pair of Bauer Supreme 4000s back in Colorado. They were decent, but the Nike's I have now just blow those ones away.

.....

I really like Jim Dowd. I think he really is doing good things for this team. The guy played a very solid game today. Very solid series actually.
