Default We will still trade up!

We can still trade up with either Houston or New Orleans.

If we gave Houston #15,#37,#61,#68 and Tatum Bell for #1
we get Bush or Mario.
We don't have enough roster spots for all these picks

Makes sense for the Texans also
The Texans would then have picks #15,#33,#37,#61,#65,#66,#68, #98,#170
That is pretty solid way to help turn a franchise around especially on the offense line.

The extra picks would also help the saints out
#15,#34,#37,#61,#68,#99,#135,#171.

We won't benefit from all of the picks we have, but we would from a guy like Reggie Bush or Mario Williams. Both Houston or New Orleans would benefit from all the extra picks.

Win Win for everyone!

That's the best b/s I've heard in the last month. There's only about 35-40 locks for a 53 man roster. What makes you think most of the 7 picks in the 1st 4 rds wont make the team

You think Corey Jackson, Ben Gordon and the rest of the over-hyped all stars deserve a roster spot without competition

Why does everyone think this is so far out of a possibility?
The Texans could take Winston Justice at #15, a Guard with the next pick
and then they could build the defense with the rest.
The idea of having Reggie Bush has Shannahan drooling.
Imagine putting him in motion and going 5 wide like we did last year.
It would be tough for a defense to match up with that!
He'd be pretty awesome in our zone blocking scheme.

Umm, I dont know, maybe because it is so far out of a possibility that is preposterous to even consider.

No disrespect but do you know Mike Shanahan or any of the Broncos coaches personally. If not how on earth do you know when Mike salivates

Every time we go 5 wide Plummer gets hit before he makes his 1st checkdown.

Well...and I'm not being sarcastic at all...you say all those picks could turn around a franchise currently in the dumps like Houston.

Imagine what those same selections...assuming they are carefully chosen...could do for a Super Bowl contender.

Having said that, you are correct...Denver is not going to make all those selections and is far from done manuevering around to get what they want...not with those three fourth rounders and two seconds hanging around.

In Shanahan's tenure here, the Broncos have never, ever been this active.

The reason is that the team sees the possibilities of filling some needs in a deep draft at positions they need help with...WR being the weakest of the 'need' group (which is why they'll take the best one available at 15...maybe)

TE's, O-linemen, defensive depth, Safety, RBs...it's all there, and from some of the forcasts (which, truthfully, are about as reliable as Colorado weather forecasts), there are one round values at just about every position...that is to say (excepting WR) players taken 2nd & third last year will be third & fourth this year.

Great year to add selections...great!!

When has trade that ever worked out for the team giving all that for one player. How did it work for the Vikings and Hershall(SP?) Walker? Or the Saints and Ricky Williams?

We didn't give up that much for John Elway.

Sorry but not a real good idea, IMO.

Wabbit what's your personal opinion on Jackson or Holmes at 15 Personally I'd be pretty pissed, we might as well have selected at 29.

I do think the Broncos scouting group are high as a kite on Jackson...less so on Holmes.

Shanahan & Sundquist??...not so much, and that's just from what I hear.

Will the Broncos take Jackson or Holmes at 15??

Honestly...I just don't know...there's so much misinformation out there right now, I just don't know what Denver is going to do exactly...BUT...TE at 15 wouldn't surprise me a bit...reach or not, it wouldn't be out of character whatsoever for Mike & Co..

IMHO, there is not a receiver in this draft worth a first round pick, unless you count VD as a receiver. Hopefully, the Broncos temper what they see on the combine tape with what they can see on the game tapes and the stat sheets.

I'd rather the Broncos pick Tamba, Mangold or Lendale at 15 than any of the WRs or TEs (whose name isn't Vernon).

Win Win for everyone!
What do you mean we dont have roster spots for everyone.

That is what camp is for. To seperate the wheat from the chaff.

There are many spots up for grabs. All of the following are on notice and could easily lose their roster spot to guy who is talented enough to be a top 4 round pick in a deep draft like this:

BVP
Sapp
Devoe
Watts
Adams
Duke
SA (but they will keep him around anyway as a vet presence and blocker)
Nate Jackson
House
Veal
Corey Jackson
Predator (I know he was resigned but the bonus was like nothing)
Roc Alexander
Paymah (maybe...he does have to show something though, but its early for him still...then again we ditched LeBust very quickly despite being a 3rd)
Chris Young

....among others.

The fact of the matter is that we grossly overstate the talent on the roster. The reality is there are scores and scores of marginal players who we like to hype up because they are Broncos and we are fed circle jerk offseason homer material.

There will be more than enough room for all the draft picks and UDFA prospects.
