Assuming that they match up in the first round which seems a lock right about now.
Being a long suffering Clipper fan I am completely stoked about this season so far. With Elton locked up at PF, The Caveman a pretty decent C, Cassell manning the point until Livingston takes over full time, Magette on the mend, and Mobley on the perimeter I think the Clippers have a very nice young starting five. The Nugs seem to be hanging a bit right about now but I still wouldn't be looking past them as a Clips fan considering they have virtually no playoff experience as a team. Just being in the playoffs is completely unfamilier territory as a Clips fan so regardless of what happens I'm proud of my boys for actually making a playoff run for the 3rd time in my lifetime. Anyway I'm down if someone else here is. Let me know. |

I have zero confidence in the Nuggs right now. A sweep is a very real possibility. They are playing their worst hoops at the wrong time. Add that to the fact the Nuggs match up terribly with the Clips and it could be a very short post season ride. |

The LA Times had a funny passage today. It said that when the ball is thrown up in tonights LAC/Memphis game, will anybody jump up to tip it? I'm wondering if anybody tries to make a shot in that game. It will probably be the lowest scoring game ever. Leave it up to the Clippers to find a way to improve their position by losing. Isn't that what they've been doing for the past 20+ years? |

Would you rather have home court advantage or not? Seems an obvious choice to me. The Clips didn't set up the seeding system but they would be foolish not to take advantage of it. They are all saying the right things but I expect they will get their asses kicked and lock up home court. And yes point taken on the losing attitude. Can't argue, I've watched so much horrible basketball it's just been unreal. But things seem different now. Brand is locked up long term for the NBA max. The only guy that will be a meaningful free agent after this year is Cassell and he will be 37 next season. I'm hoping they retain him but Livingston is gonna be one hell of a player when he gets a bit more experience. They signed Mobley to a 40 plus mil contract over the offseason. The starting five should remain intact. These are not the Clippers of old. |

The quotes from the Clipper players in the Times today were pretty funny. Yeah, they are saying the right things. They are saying that they are going to go out and try their hardest. That they would never tank a game on purpose. We all know what's going on. I guess they can't just come out and say it. But we all know they are just tanking it. One of them said it's hard to believe that they are playing hard because they just got blown out at home by the Sonics. Down by 30 at halftime.
Maybe they'll try to keep it close. But you have to think, will Memphis show up tonight? If they lose the teams are in a tie, and they would have spilt the series. I don't know who would win the tie breaker if they would finish tied. |

Think about this one...if the Clippers win their 1st round matchup and if the Lakers win theirs as well...the Clippers and Lakers would play each other in the semifinals...They wouldnt have to leave LA, and the winner would go onto the confrence finals...i'm not saying its going to happen but, it would be a crazy scenario...

If the Lake show can beat the Suns that in itself will be amazing. An all LA series would be odd. I wouldnt doubt that the Lakers would make it to the Conf. finals that way... |

I'll be honest about my Lakers. If the can win two games against the Sun I'm going to buy a t shirt. The way things have been going, that's good enough for me...for this year. Next year will be more of the same. But the year after is going to be their big year. They'll have a ton of cap room, Bynum should be ready to go, and Turiaf will be a beast. That's their year to make a real run.

JossJeff, you have the future of the NBA on your team. Shawn Livingston is probably my favorite non-Nugget in the league.
I can see the Nugs making the conference finals, and I can see us getting swept in the first round. Nothing would surprise me. I'm DVR'ing the Clips-Grizz game tonight though. Want to see how the teams play. |

![]() I wouldn't read to much into tonights game if I were you. Word out of Memphis is that Gasol is sitting out. Sam Cassell is on record saying that the clips need to lose. This could be the worst game in NBA history and Stern has only himself to blame for setting up this playoff system. You are right about Livingston though, he needs to put on some more muscle but at 19 the sky is the limit for this kid. I firmly believe that in a few years he will be up there with the best point guards in the NBA. Great court vision for someone so young and when he learns to use his 6'7'' size to his advantage look the hell out. |
