15 WR Santonio Holmes Ohio St 22 DE Kamerion Wimbley Florida St 61 TE Anthony Fasano Notre Dame 119 S Greg Blue Georgia 126 OT Rob Sims Ohio St 130 RB Taurean Henderson Texas Tech 161 OG Jason Spitz Louisville 198 LB Stephen Tulloch North Carolina St I'd be OK with top 6 picks - although Blue isn't what Denver needs at S. I see Rob Sims more as an OG, so wouldn't be picking Spitz in the 5th. I'd replace him with a LB that is still available, either Nande or Kudla - or even Bloom as a KR. Then last pick would also change, maybe pick up a second WR like Colston. But overall, I like this - probably better than what the 29th and 30th will deliver. |

I like it, even if I had to scramble my media kit to read up on every pick beyond the first three.
You folks are well informed. Chad Jackson seems to be the primary focus of the Broncos up until now, but that has meant little when it comes time to actually make the selection over the Mike Shanahan tenure here. |

Problem is SoCal, Shanahan has made no bones about the fact that he will draft a player the team has rated highly regardless of his relative 'draft value'.
Trading down from 15 doesn't seem to be an option at this stage, but 22 may find it's way into someone else's pocket. The Broncos really want a 3rd round selection & protested the 4th round-level comp award for their FA losses. |

If they take a RB with one of their top picks, I could see Bell dealt for a 3rd rounder or maybe get lucky and get a 2nd.

This would be my draft 1 . Homes because philly drafted Jackson and Homes was more productive receiver in college 2. Manny Lawson, the Broncos could line him up all over the Field at linebacker or de. Speed rusher for a couple of years until he adds about 20 pounds. 2. Charles Spencer , The Broncos upgrade at rg with Spencer potential to be a all pro some day . 4a Tim Day ,the Broncos need a te. 4b Le Kevin Smith, Solid run stopper who can also rush pasher. 4c Brandon Marshall.could see time at te and Wr 5. Mike Kudla ,best player available 6. Mike Bell

I'm sorry, but drafting at #15 sucks. Seems like no one is going to drop and that leaves Denver to reach on WRs that only have 1st round grades because the class flat out sucks.
Yea!!!! Let's draft Chad Jackson!!! He did well at the Combine, but never had 1000 yds in college. But that's ok, let's make excuses and say it was the system he played in this last year. 90 catches in the SEC and he still can't crack the 1k mark! Even better, let's get Holmes. The guy who wasn't even the best WR on his team. |

finally someone else mentions charles spencer. i dunno how this guy isn't a #1? he could easily have his name called in the first and surprise everyone. kinda like levi jones for cincy and foster for us. both of them worked out OK.

holmes IS the best WR on his team...and even if he wasn't, who cares if the other is a potential first rounder as well? Ginn is dangerous deep, but so is Ash. he has yet to learn the all around game as a WR. Santonio is light years ahead of him in that regard. Not saying Teddy can't be a star, but it's too much to say he is better than holmes at this present time.

look at how small holmes is compared to chad jackson he wont be able to block and wont be as durable. and chad jacksons numbers werent helped by leak not knowing how to run urbans O. the year before he had showed he could be a deep threat with 22 ypc, this year he showed he can get 88 catches. if he is in a system like ours, he will be able to get about 12-15 ypc and a good amount of catches for his PT. we will keep him in the slot for the first few weeks then move him out for 1&2 downs and put lelie in on long thirds leaving him rested to burn.CJ will then be ready to be a number 1 receiver when rod leaves and hopefully by then well have some more reliable 2s than lelie(or better yet lelie finally gets his act together). your boy santonio only had 54 catches and is two inches shorter and 21 lbs lighter. dont even talk about moss, he is 5 8 and 29 lbs lighter. ok so maybe he is a little shiftier, but we can get the shifty, short receiver in jeremy bloom in the 5th or 6th. chad jackson is better than them at everything. catches,height,weight,strength,.06 faster than sinorice in the 40(i cant find santonio's). unless sinorice didnt participate or something, the only receiver drill that he placed in on nfl.com is the 40 where he ran a 4.38 and i dont think santonio participated. the only reason we wouldnt go CJ would be a red zone threat but we have terrell at 6-3 who was a good red zone threat when he produced in college when he had 41 touchdowns. IF we can return him to that level we will be set in the red zone. if u can find a reason why santonio or sinorice are better than CJ, then please point it out because CJ outperformed them everywhere
sinorice's stats http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player...layerId=133304 santonio's stats http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player...layerId=133634 CJ's stats http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player...layerId=146519 FYI: CJ can run better too lol just to prove his running abilities too^ http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/9269912 Last edited by youcandoit1687; 04-15-2006 at 12:09 PM.. |
