well obviously...that's a good point

Staley was one jacked up dude though, I remember reading an article about him how he described he wanted to become a rock star so he could take as much drugs as possible

obviously he was in pain to begin with in his life to start taking heroin

MHS - i think it was more than that. I used to be really really morose - and for a while you are just standing in the dark....

Some certainly were, though my favorite track was Rooster, which was entirely composed by Cantrell. It's from the prospective of his dad in Vietnam.

No, unfortunately. I was an early teen when they stopped touring. I've seen Cantrell solo a couple of times. He played mainly old AIC songs rather than solo material. Pretty good, though I'm sure not the same. Dude can play a mean axe, though.

Cantrell is actually from OK, so we get a lot of him here (orginally)

Boggy Depot was a place in OK, I believe

I only saw them once and it was the wildest concert I have ever been to, I was 20 at the time I think, it was 1993? damn I'm old

the crowd was so testy b/c it was hot where we were out.......they had to play childrens nursery rhymes instead of the usual rock music in between bands.....not to mention some really bad bands opened up for them....circus of power? yuck and some other crappy band...anyway

Layne wore his sunglasses the whole time, he was so wasted I think........BUT was kinda funny, the mentallity at a concert, this dude had nazi tattoos on in the front and Layne said, dude that is stupid, you are a dumb mutha ****er for having that **** on you, stupid racist...the kid was summarily beaten and had to be taken out by security...the crowd turned on this kid so fast....but I'm sure just a few moments before that, other rednecks in the crowd liked his tatoos

anyway, they played for like 2 hours.....freakin' awesome, no big special effects, just them playing

Thu., Apr. 13th - 7:30 PM ET
4:30 PM PT Sound Off with Matt Pinfield
Alice in Chains - For the first time since the death of lead singer Layne Staley, the hard rockin' band born from the Seattle grunge era of the 90's talks to Matt. Back together, and ready to work on a new album and tour for later this year, the band covers the early days playing the clubs in Seattle to their breakthrough mega-album Dirt, as well as speaking candidly about the tragic death of front man Layne Staley. One of the most influential bands of the 90's, Alice in Chains has influenced countless bands in the years that followed their demise.
