Well I would like to see us trade the 15 and 22 to the Jets at number 4. They need impact players, alot of them, and while they might lose out on getting a qb to replace Pennington, you dont need a superstar qb to win, just someone who can manage an offense well. We have to get ahead of the Pack and the 49ers cause they very well could draft the guy I want. The Jets can manage for a year then draft the qb of the future next year. We then take the 4 and take VD out of Maryland, with his size and speed combo he becomes a floater, to big for a corner to cover and to fast for a linebacker. It could solve our reciever problem with out having to give up Lellie, and give us the flexibility to give Wesley Duke a chance to blossom, if he doesnt we got VD to be our tight end of the future. Then we need to trade some conditional for next year, they should be pretty high because of Anderson and Pryce leaving, and our 2cnd round and trade up to get a higher 2cnd, hopefully Moroney or White is this pick, White might be available due to his horrible workout has dropped far enough to us so we get a running back, Bell just cant handle the load IMO.

How about just keeping the picks?

There's far too much going on with this team at the moment to waste an entire draft on 1 player.

I dont think we should wait on the 15 and the 22 because unlike some teams we are only a player or two away from the superbowl. Yes a pass rushing end would be nice and if Davis is long gone then we should grab one, but I think it is time to try and address the offense for once. VD could be a superstar as either a reciever or a TE. We need to draft a running back and keep him as the starter for a long time, to build consitency in the offense. We were awesome with Sharpe and need to get that impact TE back on the field.
For our second rounder it is vital that we move up cause our third is gone to Atl. An ideal candidate would be the Texans honestly, assuming Bush is gone to them, they have a top notch qb, running back and a great reciever, plus Moulds. They could trade down and pick up Klop or the TE out of Notre Dame and we could throw some 4th,5th and late conditionals from next yea, they need bodies pretty much. Then we move in and either trade down with another team so they take the 33 overall (1st of the second) and get their second and maybe a third in exchange,or take Moroney or White with that top second round pick. Maybe we work it out so that that top second round pick gets to the Pack, along with our first round next year for Walker and their second this year. The first round next year is conditional on Walkers health which is the best the Pack is going to be able to do for a guy coming off knee surgery, if he plays they get our number one next year, if Walker cant play that pick is ours. Not done yet as we then use the 2cnd rounder that we got from the Pack and take Moroney or White. Thus we have picked up our TE in Davis, Walker, and a solid running back. If we are able to move up in the second round and get a back, we trade Bell for a high second round and use that pick to trade and sweeten the deal with the Pack or even better take Jeremy Bloom, we need a kick returner to not get Williams killed, after all he is a starting CB and Bloom has proven he has big play making ability, I should know, he killed my CSU Rams often enough when I was there and watched him run down the field for touchdowns. Anyways, my way would get Davis, a running back, Walker and Bloom, I am living in a fantasy world, but its mine and I love it here, come join the fantasy world and hope that it becomes reality, even though it wont. PS I have way to much time on my hands!!!!! Last edited by SactownOrangeSunday; 04-10-2006 at 10:57 AM.. |

One position that folk here seem to miss, is that the Broncs really need a bulldozer RG that can move his feet and make a crease in the defense so the back can get the tough yard when it is needed. I would love to see Joseph or Spencer with that second round pick

Excellent plan, Sactown. I've been a proponent of keeping the two picks, but if the real draft goes the way you laid it out, I can deal with it. I would LOVE to get a playmaking TE and get us back to the Sharpe days...

Ok well we have three fourth rounders this year, we could ship those to the Texans plus our second to move up and take their second, that would accomplish the same thing, Texans could pick up the TE they want and need to round out the offense and Lewis, Klop, and Notre Dame dude (somebody help me with his name) are still available late second round, plus they pick up three fourth round picks which is great for them.

I do see us trading up in the 2nd... I doubt we trade up in round 1, though.

I don't think Texas will be looking too hard at a elite TE since they signed Putz |

Grrr forgot the signed Putz, thanks. Well maybe they need a positional player that they can get later and dont want to use such a high second on when they get three fourths out of the deal.

Denver needs to move down and get a few spots addressed not 1 top ten player. I'd love Vernon or Mario too but, this team has more issues then 1 player on O 1 player on D. Denver easily needs DT TE DE RB (Some want WR or S as well) 6 picks needed. 3 day 1 picks available do the math we need more picks. We will need to mortage the farm soon for QB of the future
so lets address more needs while we can. |

Jake has two years on his contract, we have to worry about a qb next year or the following year, besides I think Van Pelt could be a very good NFL player, his accuracy has to improve but he can direct an offense and he has a strong arm for the downfield throws, plust he is smart. To win a superbowl we arent that far away, three impact players at certain positions. or possibly four would be good. Dont forget there are likely to be some good pass rushers that are cut when teams move down to the 53 man roster after training camps are over, you can usually pick up some decent pass rushers in that round so maybe we should address an offense that lacks recieving depth, a quality TE and a top running back.
