I'll bet the poor bastard who wrote this article only started using "J." a couppla years ago ...
Broncos in NFL Europe: Week 3
By J. Michael Moore
The third week of action in NFL Europe saw one of the Broncos' allocations make it into the scoring column. Tight end Wesley Duke notched a 26-yard touchdwon reception. Every other Denver allocation saw playing time, including cornerback Antwaun Rogers, who made what proved to be a game-ending tackle in the first tie of the NFL Europe season.
Only the Rhein Fire remains unbeaten at 3-0.
Here's how the Broncos' quintet of allocated players fared in this weekend's action:
TE Wesley Duke, Hamburg Sea Devils -- Duke helped Hamburg to a 17-17 tie with the Berlin Thunder by notching his first touchdown catch of the season. Duke's 26-yard touchdown grab gave the Sea Devils a 14-0 second quarter lead. A field goal would give Hamburg a 17-0 edge, which the Thunder overcame in the second half to notch the tie. The touchdown was Duke's only reception of the game.
C Rob Hunt, Rhein Fire -- Hunt came off the bench for the third straight week in a 20-10 Fire victory.
DL Patrice Majondo Mwamba, Amsterdam Admirals -- Majondo Mwamba did not start but played in the Admirals 38-20 win over Frankfurt. He was credited with one tackle.
OL Erik Pears, Cologne Centurions -- The former Colorado State standout started for a third consecutive week at right guard. This time, he was going against a fellow Bronco -- Rhein center Rob Hunt.
CB Antwaun Rogers, Berlin Thunder -- Rogers started at left cornerback for the Thunder and was credited with five tackles and two passes defensed. He stopped Hamburg wide receiver Ricky Bryant on a third down in overtime, forcing a punt that ended the game. (BB1 note: I saw Rogers get flagged for pass interference ... it was ticky-tack, and from what I saw, he looked good - run support too.)
