How old do you have to be in Minnesota? 18? I work in Moorhead so it doesn't matter one way or another to me...

...and hey $42 is a tank of gas and coffee

Yeah, it's only 18 in Minnesota. I usually go to the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen (spelling) to get my gambling fix once a month. I'm in college here at NDSU and I don't have a car, so I don't go to Minnesota as much as I'd like. That's probably a good thing, because I'd probably put down all my money on scratch tickets if I could. So maybe the law here in North Dakota is a good thing.

Hey guys. I've come to the conclusion that I need a tripod. But I don't know what to get. I'm assuming that most of todays tripods will fit with nearly any new digi camera correct?

Anyway, I just got volunteered by my wife to take the pictures for my church on Easter. So I need a pretty good tripod. But I don't want to spend 50 or more dollars.

Any websites to where I could buy one recommended by you guys? Or should I just head on down to Circuit City and see what they have?

Also, what max height would be good? 60-70 inches?

GB16, the first recommendation I would make is to find out at what average speed you are taking your pictures at. A good handheld shutter speed averages between 1/60th-1/2000th of a second for the shutter. Any less than 1/60th and you run the risk of shaking and blurry photos. Therefore, if you are taking low-light photography that requires a longer exposure, a tripod is a must. But, you could also even try a monopod like this one...

This particular monopod will give you much more stability and wont be as cumbersome as a tripod in a travel situation. But, if you are taking portraits or need to stand the camera by itself, I would recommend getting this tripod below since it has a head and tripod ready.
