Default My Ideal for #22

Trade down with Houston for their #33 and #66. This probably would only happen on draft day if someone (likely an OL) who Houston really wanted was available at 22.

We would then have:
15
33
61
66
Hopefully a 3rd round Comp
2 4th rounders.

Still 7 picks in first 4 rounds, with moving up to 15 from 22 (+7), down from 29 to 33 (-4) and up from 93 to 66 (+27) from where we were 24 hours ago.

At 33 and 66 there will still be good value for TE, S and OG, if we want to go those directions.

I've seen this post somewhere else interesting . I think a trade down is highly likely at this spot.

At the end of the first round on draft day you wont see where the Broncos picked at #15 and #22. Would be nice to have two quality players, but something else is going to happen where we either move up for one spot or drop back with a few extra picks later on in the draft.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Shanny work out a trade with someone for Tatum and/or that #22 as well and take a RB somewhere. Who knows, speculatory, but I don't see us using both them picks where they are on draft day.

WE could also use 15 and 22 to move up EVEN more and snag Bunkley or V. DAvis.

true, but who knows how high shanny wants to go, maybe he is after MArio??

WE need to get into the top 10 for VD and get ahead of Cleveland for BB

Never know he might be after Mario. My feeling its White or Oregon DT as actual target.

Ngata will be gone to Buffalo imo. We arent high enough for him. But i agree on Lendale, but thats just because i want DW2, so he usually goes opposite what i want

There isn't going to be a trade involving Tatum. Put down the crackpipe. Bunkely will be gone before 15, as Phil Savage is salivating over the kid and has expressed a **** load of interest in him. I do like the trade down idea though, very much so.

There will be good players in Round 2 at DE, TE and RB. I would say use #15 on the best available player at a position of need and then move back into Round 2 and 3 to start specifically addressing the remaining needs.

SpringStein, I love your idea, and I have toyed with the idea on pick no. 29. For the 33rd pick, I would love Nick Mangold, OSU Center. With picks 61 and 66, get best available safety and Mike Hass, WR, Oregon State. Hass is the only receiver who impresses my as ready to play this year. Chad Jackson will take time.

Mangold would likely be an unpopular pick - and then proceed to start for the next 10-12 years. He could start at OG immediately.

I like your idea. It would help us with the cap, too.

I gotta think the cap is gonna be a factor. We're pursuing McMahon and maybe Moulds or Williams in the future. We won't have the space to sign two mid-round first rounders so moving back almost becomes necessary. I could see Bunkley, Tapp and Fasano, and then Stovall / Avant or a RB after that depending on what else we do prior to the draft.

Certainly, I'd say we've only 35-40 players that are locks to make the roster barring injury or release:

Plummer
Dayne, Bell
Johnson
Smith, Lelie, Adams
Alexander, Leach
Lepsis, Foster, Green, Hamilton, Carlisle, Nalen
Warren, Myers, Veal, Brown, Lang, Ekuban, Engelberger
DJ, Gold, Wilson, Burns, Green
Bailey, D Williams, Foxworth, Paymah
Lynch, Ferguson, Brandon
Elam, Sauerbrun

Really leaves 1-2 QB's places up for grabs
1-2 RB's, Cobb and whoever we draft
1 FB Sapp and whoever
2-3 WR places, Terrell, Watts, Devoe in the mix with a FA/trade and a draft pick
2 TE, Duke, Jackson, Mustard in the mix, at least 1 draft pick
2-3 Offensive Linemen, Carswell, Myers and Alexander will be among the challengers here with 1-2 FA's and a draft pick or 2
1 DE either from C Jackson or draft
1-2 DT's from draft, late addition via FA
1 LB spot Webster or whoever
2 CB's spots, Cox, Alexander and Shoate in contention with a draft pick
1 Safety slot, between Browner and Abdullah at present but if a high draft pick comes in both these are gone
