Default Not a done deal but

Latest News Mar. 21, 2006 - 5:56 pm et

WEEI in Boston reports that Adam Vinatieri will sign with the Colts.
The station is very confident the deal is done, but it's worth noting that no national news source will confirm it. It's also interesting that Vinatieri reportedly just changed agents and ESPN's Len Pasquarelli notes a player can't sign a contract within five days of changing agents. If that's the case, Vinatieri has a verbal deal in place at the most.

Wow talk about a blow to the Pats.

If you can't beat them join them. Or in this case If you can beat them. Then beat them with the team you just joined and let them know what a mistake they made. To parapharse John Madden "Joe Montana can beat the Chiefs with the 49er's. With an inferior Chiefs team he can beat the 49er's" Not saying Montana is Vinatieri or vice versa. The difference may come down to one man. The greatest clutch kicker of all time.

Default This will be a tough sell to us Pats fans

I have already gotten 3 phone calls on this one. It is hard to believe. I have been to 4 Super Bowls in my life but all anybody ever wants to know about is what it was like to be there the night he kicked it in the Snow Bowl. To be honest I couldn't even tell it crossed the goalpost the snow was driving so hard (and I was at midfield in section 207 of the old Foxboro stadium) The ensuing pigpile in the stands was insane. People also forget an equally (if not more) difficult kick against Tennessee in the Playoffs when the tempature was below 0 and the ball was as hard as a rock. Thanks for the memories Adam. In Bill we trust is a tough sell on this one. I hope it works out for all.
