Oooo, I've got a good one. Since you guys have such a high vantage point, what's the nastiest/craziest/kinkiest thing you've ever seen going on in a care?

That is no joke about the Flying J. Disco and I have eaten that shiat on a road trip before and we learned our lesson real quick. We've parked OF1 amongst the truckers plenty of times at the truck stops. One advantage they have that we don't is the turning radius. Those guys can file in just a few feet apart and barely need any room to get out. Learned my lesson the hard way before and got stuck.
One thing we don't have in OF1 is a CB radio. We definetly need to get one as truckers have pulled up beside us plenty of times wondering WTF we were. lol I'm sure a CB could have kept us out of some traffic jams also. |

Why is it that when ever a hill is coming up a truck always pulls into the fast lane to try to pass someone....that one always stumps me.

Seriously, in my experience I'll get in to the "hammer lane" on a hill sometimes if I'm empty and I'm 99% sure the other guy I'm passing isn't. The only other explanation could be the guy passing is trying to make a good run at the hill... sometimes it does help on getting over a little faster... |

I never have a problem with trucks getting in my way. The way I see it is they have a job to do and I'll pass them bastages on the next straight away anyway
I would think one reason heydensmom is they cant afford to get slowwed down by another truck or car thats going to slow at the base of a mtn. ![]() |

Why is it exactly that it's illegal to use your jake brakes in town or city limits usually?

Noise
Folks dont like listening to them at 3 AM. I grew up in Santa Fe, NM, about 1 mile from where 285 exits town on a fairly long upgrade. On a still summer night when the windows were open I remember hearing the trucks doing the, "nug, nug, nug, nug" as they were coming down the hill into town. I always thought it was cool. But I guess if I had been an adult, wound up, stressed out, and unable to sleep, I might have thought differently about it. I guess I am not a trucker - so I shouldnt have answered the question. But, my father drove logging rigs, so I will use that as my excuse! |
