Default Abraham's asking price, believed to be around $18 million in guarantees

The Broncos, thought to be the front-runners, may be cooling on Abraham because of old off-the-field issues. The Falcons, Seahawks and Browns are thought to be interested, and he may visit some of those teams this week.

Abraham's asking price, believed to be around $18 million in guarantees, might be turning off potential suitors.

F-that. This would be the dumbest move ever. 18 million in guarantees plus a #1 pick for an injury-prone, whinning, less than 10 sack per season DE?

Champ may have cost a lot, but he has a great Rep as a teammate and citizen, plays hurt and only cost us another high $$$ player.

That price may well blow any bit of interest away from any team. Selfish f***.

Abraham shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Bailey. Champ plays hurt and plays hard all the time. Champ's worth every cent he's being paid.

Abraham can go pound sand up his ass. $18 million? What a joke.

I recall Champ having a contract dispute with the Redskins. He played through serious injuries that year, even though he knew his critics would rip him to shreds when he got burnt.

What did John Abraham do when he wanted more money? He played the ****-You-Pay-Me card and sat out his team's playoff drive.

Let's guarantee him a fortune. I'm sure that will make him play hard for us.......

Yeah Mario won't be asking for $15+M in guarantees since he's getting drafted in the Top 5.

Yep. He also played through this last season with shoulder and hamstring injuries and was a candidate for defensive player of the year and 1st team All-Pro. I don't care what he makes, he's worth it. Abraham isn't. Period.

If Shanahan need someone to deliver the answer I'm available. I promise that I'll only laugh a little when I talk to his agent.

Yeah, OK, Mario has not stepped foot on an NFL football field, but he is better than a guy who has had 10-13 sacks in every season but two when he only played 6 and 7 games. The bias you guys have against the guy is clouding your rationality. It is an absolute fact that he is one of the leagues more comsistent pass rushers and will make our team better. But, as was the case with Gold, you will all be proven wrong if we land him. Go get'r'done, Shanny.

WTF are you smoking? This isn't an Andre Carter/Mario Williams debate either, or some other guy who hasn't lived up to his draft position. Maybe in 5 years, but to say a guy who has never played a single down in the NFL is worth more in bonuses than someone like Abraham is asinine.

I agree. $18 million is about what a first round top 10 pick is going to get. He is very explosive.

People say he is greedy, selfish, Well, the Jets did him wrong. He is one of the best ends in the league and they franchised him 2 years in a row instead of giving him a long term contract or trading him.

Put him in Denver with a good contract and watch him produce. Anyway, that is my take on it.

Get real and wise up. Being Top 5, 2 or 1 doesnt mean jack untill you actually play in the NFL.
