Default Agent Frankel says J. Lewis will visit Denver Monday

The Associated Press reports free agent RB Jamal Lewis (Ravens) will visit with the Denver Broncos Monday, March 13, according to agent Mitch Frankel.

-------------

Wanted to get an official press report before I posted anything.

Jamal was given a take it or leave it deal from the Ravens. He left it and told his agent to schedule a flight. That's when Mike Anderson got the deal he got.

The Broncos and Frankel have already started working on a deal. If both sides get the warm and fuzzy's on Monday touring and meeting, then Jamal will be a Bronco by Tuesday.

Memo to Shanahan: it's a buyer's market for FA running backs.

I'm still disappointed, I rather go with Tatum. I wonder what we'll do with Bell if Lewis signs? What trade value does he have? or could we have something like last year, Lewis carries 20 times and Bell carries 10?

Six Dollar Burger Bill was speculating in an article about a week ago that Bell might/should be on the block. From the read, it appeared more like it was his opinion rather than what a source was telling him.

No sorry SoCal. This thing just went down a few hours ago.

All I know is Jamal thinks Denver is the perfect place for him. Not to mention He will get a shot at the Ravens in 06.

He had sent a feeler to the Steelers. But they seem happy with what they had.

Like I said earlier. It could be in the 5 to 6 signing bonus range. IMO

Thats not a bad bonus at all, considering the types of bonus numbers we have been seeing so far in FA.

Thanks HEAV.

Just so we have enough to trade for Abe, sign Carter and draft Kiwi. No such thing is over kill.

Really all I wanted was to resign our guys, get a guy to compete for the number three spot, I mean REALLY compete and find a outside pass rush. So far we are trying to do those things so thats good.

John Abraham is the one i'm hoping we get. I'd love to see Denver get Rocky too.

When I first heard about Jamal, a few weeks ago, I was worried like many on here. But the more I thought and the more video I watched of him I felt he could be scary in Denver.

Just think 4th qaurter. The opposign Defense is tired, sucking air, and our line if moving their line. And her come Jamal.

He could close out some games for us.

Not to mention he has some pop left in those legs.

Hell I'm just glad he can pass block! Might keep Jake from getting killed.

RW34 was the "Plan" But the herb-suplement screwed that.

Finally we may get oursevles a franchise back! This team has missed Portis.

Jamal sucks more air than any defender I've ever seen, is the problem. He seems to come out after every other play.

You're right about missing Portis. We just haven't had a punishing RB that put fear into the heart of a defense. Sure, the guys we've had were consistent and reliable but they weren't "difference-makers."

I think that problem can be chalked up to his receiving. That's part of the reason as to why Chester Taylor got PT...

Well that comes down to condition. The guy was in jail and a half-way house for most of the spring/summer.

If he comes to Denver he will be in the off season condition program.
