Jason La Canfora and Howard Bryant, of the Washington Post, reports free agent LB Andre Carter (49ers) completed his visit with the Washington Redskins Sunday, March 12, and left without signing a contract offer sheet from the team.

Wouldn't shock me. He doesn't have enough character concerns to be one of the Broncos free agent targets anyway.

Where are they getting this money from to sign these players? Are they not still over the cap? Or do they think this is an uncap year?

we cannot be thinking about another LB. and andre is a LB. and i just don't know john abraham is in the class of "premier d.e." like the "shutdown corner" he salivated for in champ bailey.

i say we keep communication open with the packers and 49ers until the draft day, for last minute trades to get mario williams.

He's not a natural LB, he was converted to one last year when the 49ers switched to a 3-4. He's naturally a pass rushing DE, which he was for his entire career up until last season.

Abraham is the better pass rusher. But acquiring Carter wouldn't cost them a 1st rounder and he wouldn't command as much $$ as Abraham.

So we can get Abraham and cough up a 1st rounder or get Carter, keep both 1st rounders and eat up less cap space.

I guess it comes down to your preference but I'd take option B.

I don't feel we lost much. He was a good returner, but a marginal receiver. However, I now see LenDale coming to Pittsburgh.

Seriously, though I'm thinking that the large salary part is probably going to remain. I think it'd be funny if we stole another FA DE from the skins like we did last year.

andre carter may not be the same caliber, but he'll be much less andcan give us flexibility draftwise. at this point, it seems deangelo may actually slide down to us. All I see in him is LT reincarnate. LenDale would be nice too, but DeAngelo is a very productive guy.
