The Edge Jamal Lewis Micheal Bennett Najeh Davenport (injury) Maurice Morris RW34 (if he is cleared) Edge is in AZ right now Bennett could be interesting. But the Ravens may look at him also. Jamal could be goign back to the Ravens. Maybe not. Davenport ![]() RW34 If it isn't one herb it's another herb! Smoking them damn tweeds. Maurice Morris Very interesting Low miles, been in a west coast system. Could be a steal. Any thought's? |

i want Edge but he'll cost too much, Lewis is good but i'd prefer Williams to him for the scheme Denver runs, Morris is a potential steal & would also improve special teams
value wise Morris would be the best(unless Lewis comes in incentive laden cheap) so i'd want him or a rookie runner |

What is the cost differential between signing a FA or what we would spend on a back taken with the #22 or #29?
I don't want to add another back unless he can catch the ball fluidly out of the backfield. Jamal doesn't help us there. Edge is probably looking for more $ than our budget. It sounds like the draft would be the wisest way to spend our $ and get a back that fits our needs. Maroney or White look good. Otherwise, value hunt for M. Bell, J. Addai, or A. Hall |

#22 or #29 would be cheaper than dipping into FA, cause you can generally get away with loading more incentives in a rookie contract than a vet
plus you have to bring in a vet you think is better than Dayne/Bell or on par with them(that's atleast 2-4 mil per year) i'd say the difference would be 2-3 mil between a draft pick & a FA(depending on the FA) |

Our run game won't be a problem, be it Calhoun from Wisconsin or Dayne. I think Denver might try to get a bigger back for running late in the year. JMO

The East Valley Tribune reports the Cards are hosting free agent RB Edgerrin James, although his visit will continue into Sunday. The team is pushing hard to get a deal done with James before he leaves town. HC Dennis Green said he was “hopeful” the two sides could come to a deal. While the franchise and James are in the same ballpark in terms of money, Green said, “it’s a big ballpark.” “Out in outfield, there’s a lot of room between the centerfielder and the rightfielder,” Green said, continuing the anology. “You just hope you can close it.”

If Edge joins the Cards, the Seahawks might actually have to play someone decent twice a year in its division.

This is just my thought on the RB spot. It seems to me that the league is filling up with talented RBs. You don't see the career ending injuries as much and RBs are being productive even at the age of 30. Sure there are teams that still could use a RB but some pretty good RBs are sliding this year and it should be worse next year.

an OL for what? the OL is fine if Foster stays healthy
WR,S,TE & DL is what Denver needs OL can be taken care of in the usual 5th-7th round project(well Carlisle should be a backup but i can live with him if it means Denver gets a young stud DL in the draft) |

aside from Mangold & Scott most of the pimp OL will likely be gone by pick #22
Broncos can't draft talent over need unless it's a LB,RB or CB too many holes in places & too little 1st round talent to dip into other wise the depth at WR is the only real area where one could say ok if so & so is gone it's a reach for the 1st round. Bing,Simpson,Hali,Lawson,Pope,Lewis,Byrd,Sims,Bunk ley would be better fits than taking an OL, granted if it's someone like Mangold who could be a future stud C or G then it's worth it but taking any other position along the OL in the 1st is a reach(scott is likely only other OL unless Giles impresses scouts like nuts later on) |
