Here are my initial player rankings by position:
Offense: QB: 1: Matt Leinart USC 2: Vince Young Texas 3: Jay Cutler Vandy 4: Brodie Croyle Alabama (Would be a nice Broncos pick in Rounds 2 or 3) 5: Charlie Whitehurst Clemson 6: Bruce Gradkowski Toledo 7: Kellen Clemons Oregon RB: 1: Reggie Bush USC 2: DeAngelo Williams Memphis 3: LenDale White USC 4: Laurence Maroney Minnesota (This pick would be fine with me at 22 or 29) 5: Joseph Addai LSU 6: Brian Calhoun Wisconsin 7: DonTrell Moore New Mexico 8: Jerome Harrison Washington State 9: Leon Washington FSU 10: Maurice Drew UCLA 11: Mike Bell Arizona 12: Gerald Riggs Jr. Tennessee Moore, Harrison, Washington, or Bell could all be possible 2nd or 3rd round picks by Denver. FB: 1: Lawrence Vickers Colorado 2: Rashon Powers-Neal ND 3: Matt Bernstein Wisconsin 4: Garrett Mills Tulsa 5: Shawn Willis OKSU WR: 1: Santonio Holmes Ohio State 2: Sinorice Moss Miami 3: Derek Hagan Arizona State 4: Maurice Stovall ND (Would be a nice Broncos 2nd round pick) 5: Chad Jackson Florida (I am not buying into all his hype right now) 6: Greg Lee Pittsburgh (A Junkie favorite) 7: Martin Nance Miami of Ohio 8: Demetrius Williams Oregon 9: Jason Avant Michigan 10: Hank Baskett New Mexico 11: Mike Haas Oregon State 12: David Anderson CSU (Most people have him rated lower, but I think he will stick with a team) 13: Devin Hester Miami (May play corner) 14: Todd Watkins BYU 15: Jeremy Bloom Colorado 16: Greg Jennings Western Michigan TE: 1: Vernon Davis Maryland 2: Dominique Byrd USC (Would be cool with Denver taking him in Round 2) 3: Marcedes Lewis UCLA (Ditto) 4: Leonard Pope Georgia 5: Anthony Fasano ND 6: Joe Klopfenstein Colorado 7: Tony Scheffler Western Michigan (Sleeper pick) 8: Tim Day Orgeon 9: Tim Massaquoi Michigan (Would be a nice Day 2 pick) 10: T.J. Williams NC State OT: 1: D'Brickashaw Ferguson Virginia 2: Winston Justice USC 3: Marcus McNeill Auburn 4: Jonathan Scott Texas 5: Ryan O'Callaghan Cal 6: Eric Winston Miami (I think he is a decent player, but somewhat overrated) 7: Jeremy Trueblood Boston College 8: Daryn Colledge Boise State 9: Andre Whitworth LSU 10: Adam Stenavich Michigan There looks to be 5-6 tackles worthy of first round status in this draft. OG: 1: Max Jean Gilles Georgia (will be a monster in the right sysytem) 2: Charles Spencer Pitt 3: Davin Joseph Oklahoma 4: Taitusa Lutui USC 5: Rob Sims Ohio State 6: Mark Setterstrom Minnesota 7: Fred Matua USC C: 1: Nick Mangold Ohio State 2: Greg Eslinger Minnesota (A cliche, but he is a good fit for our scheme.) 3: Ryan Cook New Mexico 4: Mike Degory Florida 5: Patrick Ross Boston College 6: Donovan Raiola Wisconsin 7: Marvin Philip Cal |

Defense
DE 1: Mario Williams NC State 2: Tamba Hali Penn State (Would love for him to fall to 22) 3: Manny Lawson NC State (Player on the rise) 4: Mathias Kiwanuka Boston College (Has a real shot at being there with our picks) 5: Kamerion Wimbley FSU (I like his game/edge rusher we have been looking for) 6: Darryl Tapp Va Tech (Ignore his 40 time...he is an intense pass rusher) 7: Ray Edwards Purdue 8: Elvis Dumervil Lousville (I know he measured in at 5'11, but the dude can still ball) 9: Victor Adeyanju Indiana (Would be a good second round pick. I see him rising come draft day) 10: Parys Haralson Tennessee DT: 1: Haloti Ngata Oregon 2: Brodrick Bunkley FSU (On the rise, will be gone before 22) 3: Gabe Watson Michigan (Can dominate when he wants to) 4: Rodrique Wright Texas (Stock is falling) 5: Claude Wroten LSU 6: Jesse Maholena Tennessee 7: Kyle Williams LSU 8: Orien Harris Miami 9: Jonathan Lewis Va Tech 10: Dusty Dvoracek Oklahoma OLB 1: A.J. Hawk Ohio State 2: Ernie Sims FSU (On the rise) 3: Chad Greenway Iowa 4: DeMeco Ryans Alabama 5: Thomas Howard UTEP (I like this kid a lot) 6: Bobby Carpenter Ohio State 7: Spencer Havner UCLA 8: A.J. If anyone thinks someone should be ranked a lot higher or lower, then feel free to post about it. I am still in the process of ranking these guys and it will change as April gets closer. I have a lot of games on tivo and tape I have to watch yet.

I don't know if Marcedes is better than Vernon Davis, but I think Marcedes is pretty damn good.

Kevin Simon might just be the best ILB in the country and he is going to be there on Day 2.

you very well could be right. Are the Jets and NO really high on Leinart? If they arent, can anyone see a situation similar to last year where Rodgers slid way down. |

I have to disagree about Leinart. I think he is the best QB in the draft.

Does he have a cannon for an arm? of course not, but he makes all the throws. He can stilck in there close, and has one of the nicest longballs in the game. Plus Leinart has the VERY BEST THROWING ACCURACY IN THE DRAFT... The guy IS the next TOM BRADY... |
