Towards the end, OD might make sudden changes. Dunno what he has in mind there.
Guys it's your game, and i'll suffer plenty of brain damage either way... but assuming the votes continue to be somewhere in the range of 50/50 the zombies already control 30%+ of the vote. 4 votes from now it will be nearly 50%. Like i said it's your game... but because I'm a math dork, i can't help myself.

that does make sense

3 votes seems like an awful lot when it comes down to the end

but I'm sure he has something in mind to screw with us even more

like I'll be around by then, judging by how the votes went this round

Yea...I know what you mean. You miss a few hours and you are out of the loop. Who needs a King novel when you have OM's Survivor.

Just keep in mind that Player Zombies (1) can't hurt someone who is playing dead, and (2) won't know ahead of time who is playing dead that round and who isn't. So, if the Zombies guess wrong, their attacks = zero percent of the vote.

Now, if there are two groups that are dug into WWI-like trenches, sending ex-good-soldier Zombies back & forth at one another, it would boil down into a pretty horrible war of attrition.

Now, just speaking for myself, if I was a player, I don't know what I'd do about that. Some folks might actually compromise some principles and sell out allies or something.

Others might try to trick the zombies into attacking decoys, so they can return fire without being exposed to death.

And then there are all the bombs, of course.

Now, if it turns out that everyone is hunkering down & playing dead, then tiebreakers start coming into play... so I'd be studying those. And since the Mole is one of the tiebreakers, I might treat him/her/it/them with a little more courtesy.

If I do introduce a final curve, it wouldn't be until we were down to 4 or 5 players left in the game.

For now, you are up to your own devices.

It's a miserable situation and I feel bad for all of you, but I don't see anything I can do about it.

Jeez 48 pages, already ....

Anyway, that would be the best way to avoid zombie vengeance. The problem is that you are left open to player attacks .... but no one said this was going to be a picnic.

Later on, vengeful Zombies can get even nastier. In double-elimination rounds, they will have 6 votes (compared to two for each survivor) and in the rounds following double elimination, there will be twin zombies, each with 3 votes.
Question...

Playing dead..

Are there any rules on the number of times a single player can play dead? Are there rules of how many players can play dead in a single round?

Everyone can play dead every single round. Starting in Round Six.

The only limitation on playing dead is that you can't move from one area of the store to another in a round that you are playing dead.

And, of course, you can't vote against another player or build a bomb or anything like that.

Ah, but that just means on one round faction 'A' loses someone, then the following round faction 'b' will suffer payback, then back to faction 'a' again, etc. Assuming rational revenge seekers and semi-stable factions of course. But frankly, I think the black out rounds are gonna fracture the alliances to pieces anyway.

The best advice I can give is if you successfully take someone out, make sure they blame someone else, or if you can't, a little judicial playing dead may save your bacon.

Life in a zombie infested mall with a maniac making the rules is a b**ch.

I'm on chapter 18 of Stalingrad now. Der Manstein Kommt!

I was especially amused by the airlift arrangements in Chapter 17:

Twenty-two transport planes were lost through enemy action and crashes on 24 November, and another nine were shot down the following day. Heinkel 111s had to be taken off bombing missions in a desperate attempt to make up for the losses. Richtofen rang Jeschonnek three times in an attempt to convince him that they lacked the aircraft to supply the Sixth Army by air. Goering could not be contacted. He had left for Paris.
