Default What other Denver teams do you like?

Obviously everyone here or I'd guess just about every one here is a Broncos fan lol, so what other Denver teams do you like? Vote for all that apply.

I personally am a die hard of the Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche, and I follow quite a bit of the Crush and some University of Colorado. Once I get out there to Denver, I may follow the lacrosse stuff more, not sure, I'll have to see how I like it.

The Broncos are kings in this town -- they always have been and always will be.

The Avs have been the second most popular team in town for a decade now.

The Nuggets were an afterthought and embarrassment from 1995 to 2003 until they drafted Carmelo Anthony. This season they were poised to join the elite along with the Broncos and Avalanche, but mediocre play and unlikeable guys such as Kenyon Martin and now Ruben Patterson have kept their popularity down.

Finally, the Rockies were a great success story until the crippling signings of Mike Hampton and Denny Neagle before the 2001 season. Their attendance has gone down every year since then. I think they'll be on an upswing in the next few seasons with some good young players developing and the huge contracts of Hampton, Neagle, Walker, and Wilson coming off the books. If they ever get back to the playoffs the Rockies will instantly become the second most popular team in town. The Broncos and Avalanche have both won 2 championships in the time since the Rockies last made the playoffs, when they lost a short 4-game series to Atlanta.

I don't know a lot of people who root for all 4 Denver teams. It seems like most people root for either 2 or 3 of the teams, like the Broncos and Avs or Broncos and Nuggets. Denver, like most western cities, is home to a ton of transplanted fans from places like New York, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. In January alone, Steelers and Red Wings fans came out of the woodwork to watch their teams play at Invesco and Pepsi Center, respectively. Unfortunately the Broncos and Avalanche lost those games and allowed the visiting fans to make their presence felt.
