Bengals:Lewis appointed to Competition Committee - The Orange Mane

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was appointed by NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue to the league's Competition Committee replacing former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz as the representative of the coaches' sub-committee that works with the eight-man competition committee. He won't have a vote, but he'll have influence on the most influential group inside the NFL. "He'll be involved in the discussions and that is really the most important thing," says Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, Lewis's close friend and committee member. "The way the commissioner looks at it, he likes to have people with tremendous insight who aren't afraid to speak their minds."
