Default Ray Ray on the block....

Lewis on the block?

According to the Baltimore Sun, associates and friends close to Lewis have said that he doesn't want to play in Baltimore for the 2006 season.
Ravens General manager Ozzie Newsome said the linebacker hasn't informed the team of any such intention, but did admit that Lewis had a recent meeting with team owner Steve Bisciotti in Florida, and said Lewis asked to be traded before the start of the 2005 season. he seven-time Pro Bowl performer actually went into a self-imposed isolation from the team last season after the Ravens declined to restructure his contract, which still has three years left.

League sources have said the Ravens were sending out "feelers" in a possible trade for Lewis, but they haven't gotten more than a second- round draft pick in exchange.

Interesting. I don't remember Butkus, Huff, Schmidt, Gradishar, Lambert or Singletary cut loose in a fire sale at the age of 30. I guess because they weren't overpaid egomaniacs who think they need to mark every corner of the lockerroom like a dog.

Ed Reed must be laughing his ass off right now.

I don't know how much laughing he'd be doing. His production will likely drop off without Lewis in the middle.

He won't come here, his dancing would be affected by the altitude too much.

TO's best touchdown dance was when he scored on the Ravens and then rubbed their noses in it by doing the Lewis dance. It was perfect...and damn funny.

This is the Jailbird modus operandi.

Shell out major $$$ on overrated players, and when their contract nears the final years they dump them. They did a few years after their superbowl run and now are doing it again.

Wow, I hope he winds up with the Raiders. However after seeing him whine on MNF when the Chiefs were running him over, I can't image he would choose to play them twice.

If we get TO, then the feud could happen in front of our eyes.

RAY-RAY is washed up, it would be fun to see TO piss him off.

We stopgap the **** out of the LB position. Ray Ray has a pretty big contract. I don't see it happening.

We tend to like our free agent's to be on the cheap side.

Ray-Ray has been in decline and has spent each of the last 3 years battling injuries. He is not worth a 2nd.

Because the raiders are known for picking up these clowns on the tail end of their careers over paying them and watching them do nothing the length of their contracts and be injured have the time. (Ray deserves the raiders IMO)

Yep as far as I can figure were

1. trading up to #1
2. Getting TO
3. Picking up Ricky williams
4. trading for Ray ray
5. then signing Edge for insurance.

Then there is reality

1. We will pick up a couple of mid-level Oline guys in FA
2. Use both our first rounders for a DE and a Safety
3. Watch the waiver wire

I'm lost here?!?!?!?!? How does this thread become about Denver? So they are looking to trade Ray Lewis. There are 31 other teams in the NFL, and toad never said man I hope Denver gets him.
