Default Bloom

I just saw on TV that Jeremy Bloom is in the draft this year. He’s projected to be a 2nd to 6th rounder. His forty time is under 4.3, which, the last time I checked, is pretty good. I’m sure he would love to come here and will give us some depth if we get TO. He’s only 5’9”, so he’s projected low. I’m not saying go for him with our third rounder or anything, but if he’s still there in the fifth round or so, would it be in our interest to just see what he can do?

I saw the Sportscenter piece on him, he's definitely serious. He's going to the Olympics and then coming back to train for football. They asked him about his size (he measured in at 5'9, 170) and he said that no one's telling Steve Smith that he's too small to play in the NFL.

Draft him.

He reminds me alot of Dante Hall, that kind of special return ability. If he is there, why not? Would rather have DW in the secondary then getting his ass knocked around returning punts. Bloom would not hurt.

Put him out there in a 4 receiver set and see if the opposing team's 4th corner can run with him.

I believe Bloom is gonna make whichever team drafts him pretty happy.

I don't see any difference between this guy and McGriff, Cole, and Kasper. He hasn't played football in about 2 years. He's 170 and 5'9. And the only reason people are talking about him is because he went to CU. He should stick to sking

You're right, we should be turning our attention to Marcus Vick. Now there's a guy worth taking a chance on.

I'd draft him for ST's only I definately think he could be as good as Hall or Dwight.

I knew someone would play the Travis McGriff card on this thread and you dealt it right from the bottom of the deck, didn't you, Garcia?

Have you seen his highlight reel? Go to his website, the intro is a mix of sking and football.

The guy is a nasty returner. He has unbelievable balance and makes crazy cuts.

If were going to play a more conservitive offense(don't turn the ball over style), we need to find more ways to score, Bloom can score from anywhere on the field.

It has been so long since we had a returner that scares other teams, the way Dante Hall does. Hall changes games.

This guy will be a player, I hope it is for us.

BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

He'll immediately be one of the best return men in the league. I'd happily spend a 3rd rounder to guarantee that we have a great return game for the next decade.

Would not surprise me to see a special team returner pick again this year, did Shanahan not draft D Will for that reason (obviously with his corner ability as well but) when he turned out to be a stud corner his returning got cut back?

Mock has moved him up to the 4th...simply because he sounded dead serious this morning. He's awful smallish tho. The kid has balance or wouldn't be a world champion freestyler. We have some returners tho. If he lasts to our 5th I pull the trigger on the little bugger.

Let's bring in Turley, Marcus Vick, T.O. Tokin' Ricky and dig up Lyle Alzado for a pass rush.

Is Vick eligible?

The guy hasn't played football in over 2-years and is obviously more committed to his sking career.

He sounded serious about football but I don't know if he would sign a contract restricting skiing thru the air. I simply wouldn't go above our late 5th.

Yeah, but your football talent judging skills are well documented (see wonder boy Vick)

And the reason Kiper says he'll go in the 3rd (after everyone gets to see him at the combine) is because he runs faster than everyone on the other team and is a natural returner.

No he isn't. If you had read anything about him you'd know this is it.

That's actually a good point. Would he be willing to shelve his ski career? If not, then he might not get drafted at all. He'd make a heck of a UDF though.

Hmm...what do I need to read....he sacrifaced his college career for sking...and isn't he sking in a few weeks for US team? Sounds like a football player to me...sign him up.

With a legit shot at Gold, wouldn't you be?

His draft position wouldn't improve much (if at all) if he had given up skiing and focused on football 2 years ago - he's still 5'9''.. only so high you can go when you're 5'9"

That's neither here nor there....what's important is...sking isn't football...and he's sking for a living...and walked out on his team in the process.
