Bengals sign QB Johnson
ENQUIRER STAFF REPORTS
The Bengals today signed free agent quarterback Doug Johnson to a one-year contract.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback played in 23 games with 11 starts for the Falcons from 2000-03.

He saw action in two games for Tennessee in 2004.

In 2005, he signed as a free agent with Cleveland and was on the Browns roster for two games before being released on Sept. 21.

Johnson is 218-for-384 for 2,600 yards, 13 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

In 2003, he played in 10 games and had eight starts in place of the injured Michael Vick.

He was 136-of-243 passing for 1,655 yards with 8 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2003.

I wonder if this is in fear that Palmer might miss longer or that they might not get Kitna back. Regardless if Johnson ends up taking snaps during the season I think the Bengals are out of the playoff race.

Man i feel sad for Palmer, that sucks big time. I really hope he comes out of this ok.

Kitna will be a decent QB for them, but definitely no Palmer.

That Palmer injury must be worse then they are letting on. Can't be good news for keeper league owners of any cincy player.

Man Cincy must have really pissed off the football gods or something...they just can't get a break.

I think this is more due to the fact they don't think they'll resign Kitna

Doesn't really change the meaning of the thread, be it Rob or be it Doug. The Bengals signed a really bad qb.
