Saints: Exit penalty apparently will be reduced - The Orange Mane

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the NFL has apparently proposed that state officials reduce the $81 million exit penalty in the New Orleans Saints' contract with the state by $15 million or $20 million as part of the $20 million Superdome improvement deal, according to the attorney for the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District. The reduction essentially would serve as a refund of the league's contribution to the Superdome work if the Saints opt out of their contract and relocate before the end of the team's contract with the state. NFL and state officials have been tight-lipped about contract negotiations, which have been conducted in private since mid-December.

That situation is so muddled it's incredible...I heard the S Dome smelled like a sewer.

Why hasn't the corp of engineers been working like beavers dredging and throwing it on the banks?

I know it's mud, but deepening the channell would help and you can throw gravel on the mud. There are ways to make the mud resistant to washout...lime or something...I'm no engineer...but before we spend billions on the city, shouldn't we be getting those levees up to withstand at least a strong 4 cane?

Honestly, I'm surprised they are going to try to keep the dome up, but she's a sturdy girl.

I wouldn't want to be on that cleanup crew...stinky...I have heard the stench was terrible there....

So think twice when you whine about the jewel of a stadium we have....think about the poor Saints and a smelly barn. Remember, it's not open air...I'm not trying to be sarcastic, it's just I hope they can keep the team, especially if they steam clean the dome. Honestly, I'm very surprised only 20 million is slotted. (I suspect that number is low to not rile up the allready hostile natives)
