I'd love to see what Edge could do in our system and not the soft system the Colts employ.
That said, Edge is looking at possibly his one big chance to cash in as a free agent and I don't think we are in a spot where we need to pay huge dollars for a running back. I expect to see James in Arizona. |

Is Edge really 27? I thought he was 30-age when rb's start declining. Hmmm, he probably runs the stretch play as well as anyone in the game. That said, we won't be able to afford him.

When you compare stats. You can't tell the two apart. At least yards and carries stats. James however has a great stat for a NFL running back. First Downs. When he's healthy, had the ACL back in 01, he is/was the Colts first down getter.
Now both had long runs of 30 something. Not homerun hits. James a 4.2 avg and RW was around 4.4. James had 13 scores. While RW had 6. But RW was sharing carries and coming back from the vacation of 2004. I feel both could fit in well in the Broncos system. Both have a solid grasp of catching passes. I'd have to say that RW has more pop in his legs. Dollars wise? Let's face it Ricky has a bad deal. He needs cash. If given a laden incentive deal the guy would run until his tongue was hanging. Edge has been consitent over his career. He may not come cheap. I still feel that Ahman Green and Jamal Lewis are wild cards out there in free agency. If Green can come back from the ACL, which is a two year deal mostly, he could be a bargain price. Just we want/need a impact runner this year 06, not 07. |

We rushed combined for over 2k. Who wouldn't like Edge, but he's a high miler, he might be 27 but will probably be 28 season start and has been worked like a mule all the way back to Miami... and will probably get around 12 million SB...we have cap problems...it's going to be hard enough to keep our existing team.
We we are really that far over the cap Pryce is history....RB is the least of our problems. We need a speed rusher, a veteran WR and some future line help. DW getting a groin tear really hurt us. Big Ben just tore Foxy to pieces and DW probably shouldn't of been out there with that reinjured groin. Trying not to sound like a Chef fan, but we had a pretty good year...it's just too bad our 9/11 happened on AFC Hunt Trophy day. To have it all fall into our laps and then lay an egg...but Pitt is a fine team...they lost 3 in a row when Big Ben had knee issues. It's just so hard to get home field in a Championship game....some players, many players will never play in one, yet alone a SB...at any rate....Edge will cost to much. Bell should have a little more upside and Dayne will be more comfortable...Cobbs is here and so is my son, Sapp...we can get a RB we like cheap that has low miles. I'm tellin' ya, Edge has 120,000 miles on those legs...he never really recovered his explosiveness after the ACL either. IMO, he is now a VERY GOOD, but not GREAT back. He had to change his running style after the ACL. Let's just get a kid with fresh legs on the cheap in the draft. I still can't believe they caught MoC with a small bottle of Grey Goose on the field...talk about a ticket out of town. I still say it was worth the risk, but it was obviously a mistake...It's just that when you watch that freshman tape of his, you salivated, but he had obvious substance abuse issues and conditioning problems. i.e. Lazy Fatass Last edited by watermock; 02-04-2006 at 11:55 PM.. |

He may not come cheap? Why do you think Indy is showing him the door? Anyone can see he's not the back he was before the ACL.
Some clown like Snyder will cough up money from god knows where...I think resigning Warren is a bigger issue. |

we dont have cap issues, any figures you see are bloated because of deals that will void or players being cut/restrucured.

What people forgot if we bring in RB it going to take some time from to learn the offense and offense line. What happen when he struggles?
