Perhaps the media did make a mountain out of a molehill on it...but they'd been in "all-Colts-all-the-time" mode for literally months before that as the Colts were widely viewed as unbeatable and certain, inevitable SB 40 winners. With the sky-high expectations of the Colts being dashed by the Steelers, of course the media types were going to immediately shove microphones into the faces of the team "superstars" to ask "what went wrong?"

One could seriously ask why the media's even bothering with doing Peyton Manning interviews during SB week instead of focusing on the Seahawks and Steelers... force of habit, I guess. They've been all about Peyton Manning for so long that they can't stop talking about him even though his season's very old news.

Exactly. Now in his back track he admits that what we thought he said is what he wanted to say straight up in the first place, but was "trying to avoid."
