Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports the Denver Broncos are likely to hire an extra offensive coach to assist new offensive coordinator Rick Dennison on the line. There are indications the team may hire New York Jets quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates, who met with head coach Mike Shanahan Monday, Jan. 30.

ahhh...yes you missed something. He is the OC in title only him and dinger will be working together on the game plans with Dinger making the calls. At least that what everyone here speculates.

Dinger is the asst. coach calling the plays

Dennison is still the oline coach, focusing on running plays, but he got a promotion in order to keep him instead of him going to Houston

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - A former offensive coordinator for the New York Jets is joining Denver -- but not in the same post.

The Broncos confirmed this morning that Mike Heimerdinger will become Denver's assistant head coach, and offensive line coach Rick Dennison will move up to offensive coordinator.

Heimerdinger had been the Broncos' wide receivers coach from 1995 to 1999 before going to Tennessee. He was the Titans' offensive coordinator through 2004, and spent last year with the Jets.

Heimerdinger had once been roommates with Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan.

The 53-year-old Heimerdinger also served as wide receivers coach at the Air Force Academy in 1981.

Dennison is a 47-year-old former Broncos linebacker who's been with the coaching staff since 1995.

Dude you are an idiot. Not only did I explain this at length in the actual hermdinger thread (TWICE), but Shack and Dave explained it to you as well.

Again, it is just a switch of titles to keep Dennison since Kubes offered him teh OC job in Houston. Dennison gets a promotion and a raise but his job remains the same, in place of Kubes we have hermdinger calling the plays. And to help with Dennison coach the o-line, since he will still be coaching the o-line as well but also helping with the running game since Dinger's specialty is passing, we are going to bring in an assitant for him.

You are the only person to voice any displeasure about this...get a clue.
