Default What would it take to get the #1 pick?

What do you guys think it would cost us to get the number 1 pick in the draft? I think if we gave our 2 first round picks, and like a 3rd round and a player that would be enough. Trust me, it would be worth it for Vince Young. It would suck a little now to give up that many picks, but in 3-4 years, you would not look back and wish we had those 2 extra picks. He could do what Palmer did and learn the system for a year, and then step in. Jake only has like 3 or 4 good years left in him anyway i think. What do you all think?

Ha ha. Na, I'm just saying give up 3 picks or so, which is really not that bad considering we have 2 first rounders.

Lose 16 games. Is this a quiz?

Just speaking personally, it was only a month or so ago that people were talking about how wonderful it would be to get Leihnert, and then Bush, Young is just the newest unproven commodity. The Fact of the matter is, we have needs in other places, and after paying a top draft choice we probably wouldn't be able to fill those needs.

I was the one saying the Broncos should draft VY before this last season started, but that was if VY was available in the mid-first round. Now, with him being the possible number one, and at the very least, a top three pick, I don't think I'd trade up that far to get him.

Is VY another Vick? Atlanta put its whole offense on Vick. When he got hurt, poof! The reason I wouldn't want VY is because football is a team sport. It ain't the NBA where all you have to do is keep feeding the rock to Kobe.

Young is a much more accomplished passer than Vick and is much more comfortable throwing out of the pocket. He is also sturdier, and won't likely get hurt as often. We don't have the ammo to get him anyway, so it is a pointless discussion.

It would take a simultaneous tactical nuclear strike on about 28 cities.

I'd much rather even a possibly of trading picks again this yr for future picks to have a chance at Brady Quinn when he finally comes out of school.

I dunno, I may be WAY off base, I just think he's gonna be special in the NFL.

As for this yr, I say we stay where we are unless someone starts slipping, then use ONE of the picks in a package deal to move up and get him while keeping the 2nd first rounder.

Just my opinion, feel free to flame me.

I'm sure you could trade Shanny and Denver's 29th for Kubiak and Houston's first.

Realistically? I'm just venturing a guess here, but I would say both of the Broncos 1st rounders, their 2nd rounder, a 4th rounder and the Broncos 1st rounder next year to move into the #1 spot. That's just a ballpark figure, but you have to take into account that all of the Broncos picks (outside of the Redskins 1st rounder) are the 29th of each round.

I like Reggie Bush but not enough to pay the king's ransom it'd take to land him.

Personally, I'd rather have LenDale. Using Reggie Bush in a one-cut system would be a waste of his talent.

LenDale is almost as much a pipe dream as Bush is. It would take a major trade up (though not as significant as a deal to get to #1) to get him. I can't see him getting out of the top 10.

Now if DeAngelo Williams falls as people are saying he could, he'd be a nice pickup. Great vision, speed, hands, can line up in the slot as a receiver when called upon. I don't care if he measured at an inch and a half shorter than Memphis reported him at, the guy can play.

I think pictures of Kubiak and Dan Reeves doing a full mouth kiss might give us an edge.

Reaching for the #1 would never be worth what it would take to get there. A few good high to mid round picks would make more of an impact for the team.

Minnesota - Herschell Walker, New Orleans - Ricky Williams.

Neither of those one-way deals worked for the team giving up all the picks for one man.

You're right, but we'd certainly be doing Kubiak a solid.

Too damn much for one guy. Vince Young will not be that great, he stock is high right now, look at Matt Leihnert his stock was just this high this time last year and he isn't as well respected as he once was. We are fine let's use what we have now make a serious run at the title with Jakes 3 or 4 years that he still has left and burn that bridge of bringing someone else in when we get to it

I think Vince is a more mobil Steve McNair... hmm and now we have McNair's old OC...

I know if it's debatable if it's worth it to move up, but what esle do we have to do till April?

It would make us worse in the short-term and we're only a player or two away from going to SB 41.

Shannahan said we'd have to give up at least a 2nd rounder to move up two spots in the first. Hardly seems worth it to me.

This is all just crazy talk.

A vigourous reach-around by Shanny on Kubiak.
