Because,it isnt certain what Wayne can do without manning and harrison where as TO, you know he has talent beyond belief. Wayne you're just not sure

Because all Wayne does is play and too many on the Mane are fascinated by the circus that is Owens.

What they said above, plus the fact that Wayne would cost a fortune. A big part of the interest in Owens is based on the notion that he'd have to play for cheap, because no one wants to risk a lot of cash on the time bomb ticking in his head.
Of course, bringing him in under a small contract would virtually guarantee that the bomb would go off at the worst possible time. |

I read somewhere where the colts wanted to keep Wayne and let Edge walk.

No one knows for sure if Wayne is a #1 receiver, though he'll certainly be paid like one if he hits the open market. The guy could be the next Alvin Harper for all we know.
Say what you will about Owens (and I have), he's a legit #1 receiver. |

yep.. and i know he is up there in age,(sort of) but a year off will only help a guy like him, strength and longevity wise. Wayne has been protected in that Colts scheme. All e has to do is win one on one coverage against a 2nd or even 3rd guy. Here we would expect more out of him and he woulnt be any upgrade over who is already here imo. Id take these guys over Wayne: Jurevicious Randel El Bryant Johnson. |

Wayne will be resigned. TO is the best reciever in the game as far as skill in my opinion and the worst as far as cancer but worth the risk because I think he will try and prove himself next year.

i just have a feeling that no matter what team he goes to next year that he will be himself (the old TO, flamboyant but not team killing TO). He will make whatever he team he goes to instantly better. |

Although there is the risk that Wayne would suffer from "Peerless Price Syndrome" (being a fantastic #2 but a flop at #1) keep in mind that he was a first round draft pick out of power-house Miami. He was picked ahead of Chris Chambers and Chad Johnson, if that means anything (which I know it does mean very little).
Again, no guarantees he wouldn't bust at #1 but he is first round talent. |

I would love to get Reggie Wane isnstead of TO. I don't think it will happen because TO is more of a risk, therefore will cost less $ than Wanyne. Shanny always seems to go for these risky players with low payments.

Edge has worn out his welcome and has high miles. Indy will draft a RB and keep Wayne. There are quite a few backs ranked high and not all teams need one and have other needs IMO.

For what it's worth, and I'm not saying I'm completely for the idea, because I'm really torn...
...but if we get Owens, we're not getting him for cheap. We'd sign him to a big contract for a long time. He'd probably be the highest paid WR in the league and locked up with Denver for a long time. And that son of a b**** would be full of all types of performance and conduct clauses. But it wouldn't be cheap. The message Shanahan would send to Owens with the contract is "I committed to you, now it's time for you to commit to me." If we get Owens, it's not going to be cheap. It's going to be one of those eyebrow raising contracts that get the league buzzing about what the hell is going on in Denver. But it would be genius, because Shanahan would be taking away anything Owens had to b**** about with regards to the money... That's just MHO. Take it or leave it. |

Reggie Wayne is a solid #2 WR, He does not have the size or speed that I would like to see on the Broncos. Wayne is always lined up against the "weaker" corner because he has Marvin Harrison on the other side... I am sure you all know who Harrison is. Denver already has the likes of Watts and Lelie and NO real threat that a top WR like Terrel Owens would bring.
If anyone here thinks that Wayne vs TO is even close in talent, must think Tatum Bell is the next coming of Terrell Davis. |
