Peyton Manning
Default Keeper league question...

So I'm in a keeper league with my buds. One of the guys approaches me with the following trade:

He will trade:
Peyton Manning
Stephen Jackson

I have:
Carson Palmer
Edgerrin James

I hate to part with either of them, as I have such high hopes for Palmer. He was the guy I was going to build my team around. Should I pull the trigger?

Do it. Jackson will do as good or better than james next year and payton is still payton...Palmer is really dicey to keep.

I'd do it. Palmer's injury was pretty bad, even though it's looking like he will be able to make a full recovery, who knows how much it will affect him mentally. On the other hand Peyton should continue to put up monster numbers for the next few years.
Peyton> Palmer
That said I also think Sjax has a far greater upside than Edge, I think Edge is in the twilight now and I highly doubt that he will be a Colt next year. I believe the Colts will dump him to a team like the Cardinals for draft picks.
So...SJAX>Edge

Looks like Win Win...Take it and Run.

Default Very interesting offer

I agree with everyone on the Peyton Manning vs Palmer deal.. Manning has something to prove and I bet he goes back to trying to throw for 40+ TDs again next year.. They might have a new back like a rookie like maroney next year so alot of the offense might be based around Manning

I dont like losing Edge though.. Edge is the real deal and S-Jax although has potential is very F-R-A-G-I-L-E!! That guy gets hurt way too much.. What other RBs could he offer ya or what other RB could you give up besides Edge?

Will peyton have a run game with edge gone and will teams focus more on stopping the pass? I say do because of palmers injury but I dont think Jackson is all that valueble.

In a heartbeat. You have no idea where Edgerrin James will even be playing next year. You have no idea if or at what level Carson Palmer will be playing.

On the other hand, Jackson is younger (and maybe good, although the jury is still certainly out), and Manning never misses games to injury.

You must make this trade!

I would accept that trade as well TJ. CP and EJ are uncertainties at the moment while you know what your getting for sure with Manning and Jackson, I believe is gonna do very well. He definately has the potential.

Its all about the injury. If for some reason James ended up running behind a team with a good line he would be player of the year next year. I think people are getting hip to Mannings game and are realizing how to beat him. If all were healthy and everything stayed the same, no trades, or injuries, I wouldn't make the trade.

I made a trade involving Edge James in my keeper league too.

I traded him Terrell Owens and the #1 pick (probably Bush)
He traded me Edgerrin James and the #4 pick (probably DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, or Leinart)

Our league is split on who got the best deal.
