Here we go again. The Broncos getting little respect from the media. A 6th seed is getting more run than a 2nd seed. And that's a 2nd seed playing at Mile High stadium. I've heard people say that the Steelers won at Cincy and Indy, so they can win in Denver. BS. Denver isn't Cincy or Indy. The Broncos are 9-0 at home this year. 5-0 against teams with winning records. 3-0 against playoff teams. 12-2 at home during the playoffs. I've read in a few different places that the Broncos have the most home wins over the past 30 years.
All that means that the Steelers chances of winning at Mile High are very slim. People are taking the home field way too lightly. In the NFC, it's the same. The Panthers are getting more run than the Seahawks...who are the #1 seed. When was the last time a #1 seed got so little respect? Home field is huge, and probably will be the difference in both of these games. |

Geographically, where are the Steelers and Panthers located? There you will find your answer.

I give the Steelers a lot of credit for going into Indy and winning, but anybody who cites the Bengals game as further proof is retarded. Yes they beat the Bengals in Cincy, but come on, no Carson Palmer. That doesn't even count.

Yes....but the big advantage of homefield is NOISE.....and a confined dome (RCA dome), is louder than what we've got.....
If Pitt handled themselves in Indy.....whose to say they can't here? Also, the best thing that happened to Cowher is having this game on the road. Under Cowher, the Steelers are 1-4 in AFC Title games.....ALL WERE PLAYED IN PITTSBURGH !!! 1994 - San Diego AT PITT ---> They lose. 1995 - Indy AT PITT --------> Their ONE win. 1997 - Denver AT PITT ------> Loss 2001 - NE AT PITT ----------> Loss 2004 - NE AT PITT ----------> Loss. And Pittsburgh has proven this year that they actually play better on the road. This game scares the crap out of me..... |

Yeah, playing in Denver will be the answer to Cowher's playoff problems.

Big Ben 1 loss in 2 years on the road. It's going to be a great game.
Cowher 0-3 lifetime in the playoffs on the road. With Big Ben, 2-0. The Boy Wonder ![]() |

I agree with Jason, we just played a team who everyone says plays their best under pressure. We played a QB who was 10-0 in the playoffs also beat Pitt last year in their house despite the crowd. The pats rarely turned the ball over. Im not a stat geek but I do know that when a team like the patriots who buckled under the pressure speaks volumes about playing at Mile High.

Denver is 6-1 all-time in AFC Championship Games, 4-0 at home.
Shanahan is 2-0 in AFC Championship Games, 1-0 vs. Cowher. Shanny is 6-4 in postseason games as Bronco coach and 3-1 at home. Cowher is 1-4 in AFC Championship Games, even worse if you recall he was a coach with the Browns back when Denver was beating them back in the 1980s. No team has won three playoff road games to reach the Super Bowl. Yes, the Steelers are a scary team, even for a 6 seed, but they are facing serious odds. Forget about respecting us. People haven't respected us all year. Why should they, now? We're still only one game from the big prize without the "blessing" of the media. **** 'em...

The Broncos have the best home record in the NFL since 1973.
Call it the "thin air" factor. |

i always worry, no matter the opponent. Sometimes i feel more confident than otehr times, but never do i not worry when they play. Steelers are going to be tough, i feel a lot more confident that were at home tho. On the road, Pitt is very tough, they are just very good at dealing with the noise, o but wait theres more, they ALSO have to deal with the thin air. The PAts are a VERY good team that just doesnt get rattled, but guess what, they did start to fold under the pressure. Steelers will have a tough time, i cant wait. |
