I will point out that when Devoe lost a family member to suicide, it got no national media attention.

Both. Soft schedule. Out of practice. They just weren't that awesome and weren't well prepared.

They also got punched in the mouth by a much more physical team.

Poor game plan by Dungy, came out way to slow, unprepared(see gameplan), and a little corky.

But for the fun of it "Shut up Blart!"

That's because very few people outside of Bronco Nation even know who Todd Devoe is...

I'll go with what TD said on NFL network. He said something to the affect of, the Colts kind of football isn't the kind of football for the playoffs. Said QBs get hit in the mouth a lot at some point....that's what Manning can't handle. I have to agree.

They got beat because the Steelers' O played better against the Colts D than the Colts O played against the Steelers' D. Big Ben lit up the Colts and the Steelers beat the crap out of Peyton Marino.

no they dont or they wouldnt have tried to soften the league in every way possible the last few years.

I missed the 2nd half too, i dont think we will ever know if Manning was calling different plays, but if so, thats so egotistical its insane.

To a degree it had to be that way. Blame Dungy. He lets Peyton and the OC run the O, the OC lets Peyton decide what's going on during the game. The pressure is squarely on Peyton Marino to be responsible for the offensive production. That tells me two things:

1) Old School QB's that called their own plays deserve more respect than they get.

2) Dungy isn't doing his job because all he handles is the Defense and it's not that great.

Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning perhaps the two biggest chokers in NFL post season history. I think the colts need a hard ass coach who wont put up with paytons antics...overriding the coaches calls etc.

I would be pissed if I were Edge. That guy had a nice season and get the ball a total of 13 times in the playoffs. If I were him, after I heard manning blaming the line etc I wouldnt want to go back to that team. Come to Denver Edge I can promise you that you will get more that 13 carries in playoff games here.

Well if he does leave the colts better find someone who wont let manning run the team. Personally, I enjoy watching it. I love seeing the manning meltdown every year.

Manning waved the punt team off on a 4th & 2, they converted BTW. What are you talking about calling different plays? Manning tells the O-cordinator what packages to put in and calls his own plays at all times.

i didnt see it, just heard it. But after thinking about it your right, he does that anyway.

It must have been Peyton waving off the punt unit that got to me. Missed the 2nd half of the game due to work.

Here's a weird thought that just popped into my head, all that time Elway was minimized by Dan Reeves and a lot of us (me too) demonized Reeves for it. This is the other end of the spectrum. This is the photo-negative of Elway. This is a QB getting everything thrown at him and the stress shows. I think Peyton Mangina...errr...Marino needs a HC who will run the team. The whole team.

I believe they were rusty. I wouldn't have wanted them next week. I fully believe that if they'd have been playing and peaking at the right time, they could have been near unstoppable.

I see it as a paradox that exists in sealing your division early. The guys across from you have been fighting for their lives for the last five weeks, meanwhile, the team that wrapped everything up early has been coasting through and "getting healthy." It's just another layer of parity in the greatest professional sport in the world.

If the Colts had found that intensity before Paolomalu went and scared it into them, they'd have been beastly. Did you see how they responded when they got a taste of the idea that their season was about to be over? That was a real come to Jesus moment that is going to haunt this team all off season.

Rusty, but Pitt also presented them with exactly the kind of thing they couldn't deal with. A power-running team that got up a couple of scores on them. (With a solid D)

Indy is still a finesse, dome-team and once Pitt got up a couple of scores, it became a PLAYOFF football game. None of this track-meet bull****.
Pittsburgh's D came to play all game long, and Indy's didn't.

It's the same reason Indy has lost in the playoffs every year.

It's the same reason we've lost.

Dominant defenses make the difference in the playoffs. Obviously, you've got to play a little offense, too. Chicago showed us that today. But, yet another blueprint for playoff success was laid out for us today.
Run, run, run... and kick @$$ on defense.

Might sound like a tired line of reasoning, but it's pure fact.
